One of the words you most often hear when describing the Suzuki Jimny is “cute.”
Japan’s Wald International appears to have taken that as a challenge, coming up with a Jimny Sierra that bucks the idea of cute and goes straight for manly instead. Dubbed the Jimny Black Bison edition, Wald’s Suzuki may have taken a few notes from the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, dressing up the Jimny and giving it a touch of an edge.
Using a Sierra variant, Wald redesigned the front bumper, which connects with the over fenders—as do the rear fenders and bumper. Wald then added a new grille, headlight covers, and a more aerodynamic hood, as well as a few additional air intakes.
There’s no word on the engine, so most likely Wald kept either the 660cc turbocharged inline-3 or the 1.5-litre inline-4. More aggressive rims with orange accents were added and then shod in knobbier tires. The whole thing was then given a darker color theme, with a charcoal grey body and black accents.
The colour scheme gives this 4X4 a dressed up look, almost as if it just came off the back trails, jumped in the shower, and put on a tux for the opera. Whatever vibe Wald was looking to create with this custom, it’s very apparent that “cute” wasn’t one of the criteria.
