The cast and crew of the wicked black comedy In Bruges are reuniting for a new film that’s set to shoot later this year. The film is titled The Banshees of Inisheer, and it sees filmmaker Martin McDonagh reteam with actors Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson for what we’re assuming will be another dark comedy splattered with violence.

Deadline reports that the film is set on a remote Irish isle with Farrell and Gleeson playing two lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship which has alarming consequences for both of them.
If you do a little digging, it turns out Inisheer is a real place. It’s a tiny island off Ireland’s east coast with a population of around 260.
McDonagh directed Farrell and Gleeson in his 2008 debut In Bruges which followed a hitman (Farrell) who botches a job and is taken to Bruges in Belgium to enjoy himself before he is bumped off by a colleague (Gleeson). Events take a turn, and the two are then hunted by their vicious boss played by Ralph Fiennes.
McDonagh went on to direct Seven Psychopaths with Colin Farrell and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which earned Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell Oscars for their performance.
Little is currently known about The Banshees of Inisheer, but we have high hopes for the return of this dream team.
