Housed in a wood-panelled warehouse conversion in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the new concept waves goodbye to the stale, proverbial country club vibes and says hello to a fresh hang-out destination for next-gen golfers. According to the brand, club members can immerse themselves in all things golf-related and up their skills, all in the company of seemingly like-minded players. Luke Adams, Playfair founder said the new concept was all about providing a fun, one-of-a-kind golfing experience, encouraging everyone who visits to learn, socialise and unwind.
“Playfair was founded on the belief that the golf experience needs to be better,” Adams said. “By taking the best of the heritage of the game and improving that with a modern approach we provide an experience that golf has long been waiting for. More accessible, more fun and more in line with today’s world.”
While it may fall slightly short of Michael Jordan’s drone-delivering country club, Playfair doesn’t skimp on the features. Along with individual and group lessons, the space features golf bays with elite Trackman technology with a top-rated PGA coach at hand. There is also a fully appointed club-fitting experience with leading brands like Titleist & Callaway, not to mention an in-house sand bunker and putting green. Once you’ve finished working on your swing, enjoy a freshly poured Mecca Coffee espresso, grab a bite from either Fed Kitchen or Orchard St and then indulge in pastries from the infamous Bourke Street Bakery.
