With California’s relatively recent legalisation of recreational marijuana, the public has been treated to many celebrities willing to share their fondness for the devil’s lettuce; we even got treated to Elon Musk blazing up on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast (and witnessed Tesla stocks drop by six per cent immediately thereafter). Now, on ex-boxer Mike Tyson’s “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast, with rapper Jim Jones, we get an insight into just how much Tyson smokes per month.
Tyson, who has smoked marijuana since he was a child, and has long been an advocate of legalising the drug, which is gradually becoming more and more accepted as both a therapeutic aid for sufferers of many conditions, as well as a recreational drug, in many parts of the US.
During the episode, Tyson asks co-host (and former NFL player) Eben Britton, at around the three-minute mark. “What do we smoke a month? Is it $40,000 a month?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Britton replies. “We smoke ten tons of weed a month at the ranch.”
The ranch in question is Tyson’s very own 420-acre (heh) marijuana farm, located in California, which farms nine different strains of the stickiest of the icky, and produced CBD and THC products.
“But we’re throwing out to the dispensaries 500 a month. Between 400-500 a month,” Tyson then said. Presumably, this offsets his own personal use of ten tons a month, which amounts to a staggering USD$40,000 worth of weed.
It’s unclear just how many people work at or occupy the ranch, but we can only assume it’s a LOT, given the sheer quantities of weed being inhaled and consumed in such a short space of time.
