DNA Distillery

Richie Hall – Video Producer

DNA Distillery is all about Rakija (pronounced ra-ki-ya). I recently had the pleasure of sharing a drink (or two) of rakija with co-founders James and Monique. Rakija has been made by their family for five generations. They tell me that their Dedo’s recipe was so famous in the village that people would travel by foot for the chance to taste it. When their family moved to Australia, they brought Dedo’s beloved drink with them. DNA Distillery produces their rakija from organic full-bodied Australian shiraz, free from pesticides and chemicals. The wine is then distilled immediately using a specialty still flown in from Poland. It is then distilled a second time to ensure they only bottle the finest rakija there is. How to drink it? Check the link below for some tasty recipes – ‘The Bitola’ is perfect for summer.

Therabody Smart Goggles

Scott Purcell – Co-Founder

I’ve got to be honest. I had a crazy ugly stye in my eye two years ago that was called a chalazion, and one of the things the optometrist recommended were these USB goggles that heated up to help relieve the pressure and break up some of the gunk under my eyelids. I found this insanely relaxing as it was a chance for me to switch off from the world with a nightshade. And that’s exactly what the Therabody Smart Goggles offer with a few added benefits. Not only do they come with a heating element, they also use a combination of vibration and massage to help you rest. The goggles also measure your heart rate to personalise your experience and come with three modes: Focus, Sleep and SmartRelax. Due to the massage functionality, they are quite large on your head, akin to a smaller set of VR Goggles. They do come in a little steep at $299.90 but if you’re looking for the fanciest eyeshades ever, they might be your best bet. Full disclosure that I was supplied a pair of these by the brand.

Barking Postman Hot Sauces

Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships

I am truly hot sauce obsessed. If you open my fridge door you are greeted by a stupid amount of hot sauce options that range from low to extremely high scoville units (how hot the sauce is in regular speak). In any gift giving situation throughout the year, I receive hot sauces regularly because my circles know it’s going to make me extremely happy every time. It’s an easy and much appreciated win. So naturally, I have tried almost every hot sauce available and feel like I can speak on the matter pretty well. A hot sauce range I am super into at the moment is Barking Postman Hot Sauces, particularly the Mango Passion Habanero Hot Sauce. Enjoy this blend of real tropical fruits and spicy Habaneros. One of the hotter sauces in the range and great on pizza, tacos, chicken or pretty much anything.

Georgie Boy’s Cafes

Naman Singh – Content & SEO Specialist

With people well and truly back in the swing of things, we all need a caffeine fix or two to keep us going. The Georgie Boy’s franchise comes through with their wholesome, hearty menu and coffee selection.

We all know cafe-style coffees can be a hit or a miss, but what makes Georgie Boy’s coffee standout amongst the crowd, is that every location hits the spot, everytime. My coffee order is a strong latte, extra hot or for days I feel like I need to start my day with a treat, I would opt in for a mocha. While they absolutely nail their coffees, they also do a stellar job when it comes to their food. Their range of brunch-inspired nibbles, with a to-go twist, is fresh, delicious and extremely generous in portion size. Their Spicy Turkish Chicken Roll is arguably my all time favourite sandwich.

Georgie Boy’s Cafe is conveniently located in Sydney’s many corporate hotspots. Find the closest location to you here:

Invictus victory elixir

Invictus Victory Elixir

Marcus Hurley – Sales and Partnerships Manager

The Man of Many office has been a little Australian Open mad these last few weeks, and with the Finals coming up this week it seemed fitting that my staff favourite reflect themes of achievement, glory and victory.

Enter Invictus Victory Elixir. The bottle alone (a new elegantly lacquered trophy) is enough to make you feel like a champion. Admittedly, before joining Man of Many, fragrances were not high on my list of wants. Things have changed as we work with some of the best fragrances in the business. The world of Fragrances is an incredibly fascinating one and Rabanne is up there with the best.

I could dive into the list of fantastic (and exotic) ingredients – green cardamon, black pepper, Indonesian patchouli, tonka bean – but at the end of the day it’s all about how these combine for a rich and intense fragrance that makes you feel like a champion.

Perhaps my favourite thing, the natural ingredients of Invictus Victory Elixir are all responsibly sourced, something very close to my and Man of Many’s heart.

So, if you received a fragrance for Christmas that didn’t quite hit the mark, check out Invictus Victory Elixir. The scent of victory has never been so addictive.

Brawl Stars

Brawl Stars

Dayna Aspite – Branded Content Associate

I’ve hit a point in my love for gaming where I thought I’d never end up… Mobile gaming is on the rise and I thought I’d finally jump on the bandwagon after being fully convinced competitive gaming is not to be done in the palm of your hands. In comes the most chaotically fun top view brawler sure to hit your gaming fix on the go whether it’s sweating in comp or chillin with friends in arcade mode. Not only can you find a map to cater to your playstyle but also the brawlers themselves. With over 70 to pick from, you’re sure to find the one that suits your style the best.

Brawl Stars was introduced to me a little while ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Aesthetically speaking it hits the brief on being fun, colourful and addictive, which most mobile games try to achieve. But what sets Brawl Stars apart for me was the consideration of the UI. It’s built for simple tippy taps of your thumbs and colour coded to understand the breakup of functions. Another worthy mention is the camera angling, something that’s hard to achieve on mobile without feeling too far away or too zoomed in. The overview of the battle arenas sit at just the right distance to be able to strategically maneuver your way around and feel like you’re not missing any important details while you’re on your way to victory.

Woollahra Hotel’s $89 Bottomless Brunch

John Guanzon – Head of Social

If there’s one religious ritual millennials are known for, it’s the holy concept of brunch. An occasion synonymous with leisurely egg-fuelled meals at 11 am and boozy late-morning catch-ups, brunch is the single best food trend of our generation. My first brunch of the year was at Woollahra Hotel, where they’re running a high-end and indulgent $89 Bottomless Brunch deal. Not only do you get two hours of free-flowing drinks including Mimosas, Bellinis, wines, and beers, but the deal also lunches an incredible Asian-inspired meal masterfully crafted by head chef Jordan Muhammad (formerly Spice Temple, Chin Chin, and Forty Licks). The experience begins with a sharing menu, featuring vegetable spring rolls and salt & pepper squid to start. This was followed by prawn wontons, and fall-off-the-bone braised beef short ribs served with bao buns, hitting a home run with a perfect balance between tender and tangy. To be quite honest, the bottomless drinks were the initial drawcard, but the quality of the food turned out to be a true surprise stand out for me. The $89 Bottomless Brunch meal is available from 12-4 pm on weekends with a minimum of four guests per booking. I may be biased, sure, but I’d say no one in the world does brunch better than Australia, and the Woollahra Hotel is no exception. A must-try for anyone looking to elevate their brunch game or simply want to unwind over the weekend with a long lunch and an endless flow of mimosas.

Old elk straight wheat whiskey

Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey

Sometimes, you don’t start to appreciate a whiskey until you’re almost done with the bottle. So it went with Old Elk’s Straight Wheat Whiskey, a sturdy sipper that didn’t fully reveal itself until the final drams. Drawing from a mashbill of 95 per cent soft red winter wheat with a 5 per cent touch of malted barley, this juice spent at least 5 years in the barrel to render a balanced profile of wheat, dried fig, sweet vanilla, and subtle oak spice. Alas, if only I had another bottle to start the journey all over again!

Old Elk Distillery hails from Colorado and uses a patented slow-cut-proofing process during production, adding water to the whiskey in gradual increments to keep the temperature cool and retain maximum flavour and quality. Their Straight Wheat Whiskey is bottled at 50% ABV and best paired with orange milk chocolate on Valentine’s Day, should you be sipping for the occasion.
