NASA Announces their Next Step in Space Exploration

"We are NASA"

You’d be forgiven if you asked, what the bloody hell has NASA’s been up to in the last couple of years?

Whilst the Elon Musk and Richard Branson’s of the world make a whole lot of noise talking about commercial space travel, NASA in recent years has seemed to release more clothing for Hypebeasts than public statements on space exploration.

Over the weekend NASA released a video announcing the next step in space exploration and it’s hype as f*ck. The two and a half minute promo video looks like the trailer for the next Ridley Scott movie, but you know, without the flesh-eating aliens. The footage of vintage Apollo missions is spliced together with animated renderings of astronauts on Mars. It’s topped off with the patriotic narration by Mike Rowe and a killer musical score to boot.

“This is not hypothetical. This is not about flags and footprints. This is about sustainable science and feeding forward the advance of the human spirit.” Mike Rowe announces NASA’s pledge to return to the Moon and go beyond to Mars.

NASA’s renewed commitment to space exploration comes as a direct result of the Space Policy Directive-1. The policy was signed by President Donald Trump at the end of last year and it directly calls for human expansion across the solar system.

Who’ll be first back into space, Elon or NASA?
