The top online destination for men's fashion, MR PORTER has partnered Italian fashion house Prada for an exclusive clothing collection rooted in bowling nostalgia. We’re talking striped shirts, gingham checks, cap-toe sneakers and more. Available now, the 32-piece collection draws from the fashion of the 1950s through to the 80s, which is apparently the high-point of bowling's popularity. I’d argue The Big Lebowski was partially responsible for a 90’s comeback. Also the increased demand for delicious White Russians.

The collection features camp-collar shirts in Hawaiian and cartoon prints, plus madras checks. Mid-century-style block-panelled stripe cardigans and stripe knit T-shirts and blouson jackets in satin and suede for the colder weather.

There are two printed T-shirts with exclusive Prada bowling logos, both referencing the eras of inspiration. Pleated and flat-front trousers, polo shirts and a mohair bi-colour wool blazer complete the ready-to-wear offerings. Loafers, creeper and cap-toe Derbies and cap-toe sneakers in nubuck and deerskin round-out the collection.

The bowling-inspired capsule is the first time Prada has partnered with an online retailer for menswear. Discussing the exclusive collection, MR PORTER’s Managing Director Toby Bateman says the collaboration was a natural fit. “We are incredibly proud to be working with Prada on this special project and to be the first men’s online retailer to partner on an exclusive collection."

"The retro themes of the 1950s and 1980s menswear were an effortless inspiration for the campaign and content, and allowed us to easily meld the worlds of MR PORTER and Prada.”

The bowling-inspired collection from Prada is available now exclusively through MR PORTER. Earlier this month, MR PORTER detailed its nautically-inspired collection name-dropping Jacques Cousteau and President John F Kennedy.
Check it out

Have you subscribed to Man of Many?
