One of Longines’ most iconic collections is now available in a unique collorset that appeases the embedded adventurer in all of us. A simple addition of green-hued timepieces has elevated the HydroConquest’s aesthetic to new heights. Drawing inspiration from the world of aquatic sports, the green-coloured HydroConquest also features a green coloured ceramic bezel insert.

The Horological Society of New York brings its watchmaking classes to Melbourne

Horological Society of New York comes to Melbourne

America’s first and oldest watchmaking guild was founded in 1866 and continues to operate with an innate dedication to advancing the art and science of horology through education. Their 154-year old tradition of giving monthly lectures from industry leaders covering all aspects of horology is next to be hosted by The Hour Glass in Melbourne. This 2-day four-hour per day course offers participants an in-depth series of modules, teaching them everything you could possibly want to know about watches. Best of all, no experience is required. The event will take place on February 29 and March 1, so you best be quick to book your spots as there are only a few left!

Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph with a navy blue dial, three silver sub-dials, and a blue leather strap
The Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture features a striking navy blue dial

Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture

Now featuring a panda dial for a sportier look, Frederique Constant’s Flyback Chronograph Manufacture was already one hell of an impressive watch. I particularly love the date indicator at 6 o’clock. As opposed to using a date window, the Flyback Chronograph Manufacture utilises a dial, creating a very traditional and very appealing look. The pushers are beautiful, the dial is flawless and the fact that it has a manufacture movement just makes me all giddy.

A person wearing a HYT H1.0 watch with a transparent dial showing mechanical bellows and a black rubber strap
The HYT H1.0 x MR PORTER features a unique hydromechanical movement

HYT H1.0 x MR PORTER

Created exclusively for MR PORTER, the HYT H1.0 x MR PORTER features a black and white coloured theme with red highlights. Its stainless steel case measures 48.80mm in diameter and is covered in black DLC. The dial is very typical of HYT in that it features the brand’s iconic and super distinctive fluidic time display, with a micro-fluidic display sitting at the centre of the piece. Made up of a borosilicate glass capillary with a nano-coating on the inside, multi-layer bellows, a thermal compensator and fluidic restrictors, the H1.0 x MR PORTER’s movement sounds more like a supercar’s engine bay.
