- Jordan Brand is celebrating 30 years of the original Space Jam with a new footwear and apparel collection.
- Nike goes beyond basketball, with designs for baseball, golf, training and everyday wear.
- The anniversary collection launches from 5 November 2026, alongside a new campaign and documentary series featuring Michael Jordan.
30 years ago, Michael Jordan found himself on the wrong end of a hole-in-one, forcing him to team up with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Tune Squad, including everyone’s favourite Lola Bunny, to take on the Monstars in Space Jam. Even in the mid-90s, it was a bizarre combination of basketball, cartoons, Bill Murray and some of the greatest NBA players of all time: Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson and Shawn Bradley. And, somehow, it worked.
For the film’s 30th anniversary, Jordan Brand and Nike have unveiled a new Space Jam footwear and apparel collection inspired by the beloved 1996 classic.
While basketball is the natural centrepoint of the collection, Jordan stretches well beyond the hardwood, bringing baseball and golf into the mix alongside training and lifestyle footwear.
1/9A ‘Space Jam’ Collection That Goes Beyond Basketball
The Jordan Brand x Space Jam Collection starts, as it should, with the classics. The Air Jordan 11 returns in five new designs inspired by the film, including a pair of Space Jam American football cleats. That one is a promotional release, not something you can actually buy. But yeah, as far as I can tell, outside of Daffy Duck putting on a helmet, I don’t remember them playing football.
Off the gridiron, there’s a near-replica Air Jordan 11 Retro OG in black with royal blue accents and a ‘Jumpman Jam’ tongue label, alongside a women’s ‘Magic Ball’ Edition with a colour-shifting upper that cycles through four colours, a first for the Air Jordan 11. It’s inspired by the basketball the Monstars used to steal talent from all those NBA players. I still feel bad for Ewing. I’m sure he has no problem performing, even if he is 64 in 2026.
There’s also the bright green Air Jordan 11 ‘Green Screen’, with orange accents nodding to Bugs Bunny’s carrots and the tracking markers used to make the original film.
If we step even further away from the basketball court, you’ll find an Air Jordan 11 baseball cleat that feels particularly appropriate given Jordan’s stint with the Birmingham Barons. Just remember, if the catcher tells you it’s a curveball, “Don’t swing.”
But if you’d rather play golf with Bill Murray and Larry Bird, then pull on the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf Spike.
As for the rest of the collection, there’s the Air Jordan 3 Retro, Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Magic Ball’ and a Jordan First 1, too. The collection also includes varsity jackets with ‘secret stuff’ labels (not sure why they didn’t release a water bottle instead), Lola Bunny jerseys for the obsessive fans and a bunch of other graphic tees that bring plenty of Tune Squad energy.
1/7Jordan Brand Returns to ’96
Taking inspiration from Jordan’s impossible stretch towards the basket in the original film’s final game, Jordan Brand is launching a ‘Greatness Is Never Out of Reach’ campaign featuring Jordan Brand family members WNBA No. 1 draft pick Azzi Fudd, two-time American League MVP Aaron Judge, global Afro-beats icon Rema, and Oscar-nominated multi-hyphenate Teyana Taylor.
But for fans of the original film, the more interesting addition might be Space Jam: Beyond the Jam, a six-part documentary series coming exclusively to Jordan Brand’s YouTube channel. You’ll hear from Michael Jordan and others involved in making the film, with previously untold stories and behind-the-scenes perspectives on how a basketball movie starring the Looney Tunes became a cultural phenomenon.
The Jordan Brand x Space Jam collection launches from 5 November 2026 through Jordan Brand and select retailers. Australian pricing and local availability have yet to be confirmed.
