Watchmaker Breitling and Norton Motorcycles are two historic brands with a slate of accomplishments under their belts, including respective appearances in the James Bond franchise. Now, they’ve joined forces for what will hopefully become a long and productive partnership. To celebrate, Breitling has introduced the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition, which will be unveiled at this year’s Baselworld. Incorporating DNA elements from both brands, the piece makes for an ideal accessory, especially if you rock it while cruising around on a Norton Motorcycle. Speaking of which, Norton has crafted a new Commando 961 Café Racer MKII Breitling Limited Edition Motorcycle just for the occasion.
As for the watch, it puts golden numerals, hours and minute hands atop a brilliant black dial. Also featured are a small seconds subdial, a chronograph minute counter, and a black tachymeter scale on a white inner bezel. Affixed to the 42mm case of stainless steel is a brown vintage raw-leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. Under the skin is legendary Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, which delivers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
As one might expect, the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition paves the way for plenty of future collaborations. Breitling CEO George Kerns claimed that those wearing the watch might suddenly hear “‘Born to be Wild’ playing somewhere in the background.” Readily agreeing, Norton CEO Stuart Gardner said the watch “perfectly embodies the nature of our brands.”
