What’s better than a stunning new watch? A stunning new watch that helps deliver eye care to those in need, of course. To achieve this noble feat, watchmaker Omega and Orbis International created a special edition Speedmaster Chronograph 38mm. The timepiece honours Omega’s ongoing support of Orbis International’s Flying Eye Hospital, which offers eye care to remote regions of the world and provides teddy bears to every young patient who undergoes life-changing treatment. It’s certainly a cause worth celebrating, and the new Speedmaster 38mm watch celebrates in immaculate style.
Naturally, the watch is a formidable entry in the Speedmaster line-up. For the bracelet, case and bezel, Omega went with trusty, premium stainless steel. Perched between the bezel and dial, a blue aluminium ring hosts a tachymeter scale. Continue inward and your eyes land on a clean blue dial with light-blue sub-dials and an oval date window at 6 o’clock. Under the hood is Omega Co-Axial Calibre 3330 movement
Making a special appearance on the watch (for obvious reasons) is the Orbis Teddy Bear. You’ll find one used as a counterweight on the central hand and then another one stamped on the case-back. Pair that with the watch’s impressive layout and you end up with great horology for a great cause. We call that win/win.
