Tudor listened to its customers and delivered a handful of highly specified timepieces with METAS Master Chronometer certification (0/+5 seconds per day) and smaller case sizes for its 2024 model line-up.
They’ve also done the unthinkable and dropped their most expensive ever watch – a $47,400 AUD solid-gold green satin-finished Black Bay 58 18K – into the market that’s sure to raise a few eyebrows. Maybe the standout model from the line-up is the all-new Black Bay 58 GMT which takes the smaller and thinner 39mm case with burgundy and black bezel and adds a jet-setting GMT function to the mix. Let’s take a closer look!

Tudor Black Bay
Pricing: $6,560 AUD (M7941A1A0NU-0001), $6,720 AUD (M7941A1A0NU-0003), $6,250 AUD (M7941A1A0NU-0002)
The new black-on-black Tudor Black Bay line-up remains true to its original design in 41mm, but with a thinner case, and arrives with your choice of TUDOR ‘T-fit’ bracelets: 3-link stainless ‘rivet style’, 5-link, or a rubber-strap. Models carry the manufacturer-calibre MT5602-U movement inside which is now both METAS Master Chronometer and COSC certified, making them highly specified watches at this price point.
What first appears as a takedown of the sought-after Rolex Submariner ref. 124060 reveals plenty of Tudor-specific touches, including but not limited to the lollipop design on the split second hand, satin black dial that’s softly radial-brushed, and a redesigned crown that sits flush with the case.
If the brand ever decides to remove the fake rivets from the 3-link stainless bracelet, we see this as a sure-fire contender for the best mid-range watch on the market. As it sits right now, it’s an outstanding piece with real enthusiast credentials and we’d love to get our hands on one with the 5-link bracelet.

Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT
Price: $6,500 AUD (M7939G1A0NRU-0002), $6,810 AUD (M7939G1A0NRU-0001)
Tudor has added a GMT function and much-loved burgundy and black bezel to the smaller and thinner 39mm Black Bay 58 model, spawning an entirely new model called the Black Bay 58 GMT. This colour scheme has been paired with a gorgeous gilt colour on the hour markers, hands, and hour markers of the bicolour bezel. Finally, a winding crown is retained from the Black Bay 58 with the TUDOR logo in relief.
Power is courtesy of an in-house MT5450-U with 65 hours of power reserve, METAS Master Chronometer and COSC certified, and water resistance of 200m (660ft).
While we loved the Black Bay GMT ‘Pepsi’ on the NATO strap, it’s unavailable for this model so we’d choose the stainless steel bracelet over the rubber strap and send it. This is an outstanding value-for-money GMT watch that performs as well as timepieces two or three times the price.

Tudor Black Bay 58 18K
Price: $47,400 AUD
The most expensive ever Tudor watch is presented in 18 ct solid yellow gold backed by a “golden green” dial with applied hour markers in 18 ct yellow gold. It’s as simple as that, this is a nearly $50,000 Tudor, but there’s not much else that differentiates this model from the stainless steel Tudor Black Bay 58 and even includes the same Calibre MT5400 movement inside with a power reserve of 70 hours and 200m of water resistance. We’re not particularly sold on the satin finish case, but we’ll have to draw conclusions when we get it in hand.
Interestingly, it’s not a METAS Master Chronometer which is a stark omission considering the importance the brand has placed on this throughout their Watches and Wonders 2024 coverage.
