Tudor Black Bay Chrono S&G Goes for the Gold

From time immemorial, mankind has sought after precious metals. Now we need look no further than our own wrists to find silver and gold, thanks to Tudor’s Black Bay Chrono S&G.

Tudor took their popular Black Bay watch and added in precious metals to dress the watch up even more. The watches come decked out in steel and yellow gold. They measure 41mm and have a crystal sapphire. The black dial is domed and contrasts nicely with the gold and steel. The S&G utilizes Tudor’s Calibre MT5813Power Reserve movement.

The mechanical movement is chronometer-certified and has a 70-hour power reserve. The watch features a 45-minute dial at 3:00 and a seconds dial at 9:00. At 6:00 the watch has a date window. You can select from a leather bund or woven strap or a steel and gold bracelet.

The gold is applied liberally, adorning the fixed bezel, which also features a matte black anodized aluminium bezel that runs on the outside of the dial and is decorated with a gold tachymeter scale. The two screw-down pushers and the crown are made of gold. Several of the dial features, including the two textured sundials, chapter ring scale, dial test, hands, and indices are also done in gold.

If you opt for the bracelet, then you’ll have even more gold thanks to the gold centre links. The bracelet version runs USD$6,800, while the fabric and leather versions will start at USD$5,600.
