“There’s so much love and excitement for Pokémon in Australia, so we’re thrilled to be launching the limited edition Pokémon Match Battle Happy Meal,” said David Morris, Brand Manager for McDonald’s Australia. “Whether you’re preparing for your next Match Battle with friends or adding to your existing Pokémon collection, there’s fun to be had for customers of all ages with our newest Happy Meal.”

So you’re probably wondering if these Pokémon Match Battle trading cards are actually worth anything if you find one. The short answer is no.

We’ve already seen these cards release overseas as part of a similar Happy Meal set containing a toy, cardboard Pokémon coin, spinner and booster pack containing four cards (including one holographic). And the market prices are hovering around AUD$1 per card on the TCGplayer Price Guide.

The Australian Happy Meals are a little short-changed with a lack of “toys” included with the promo packs. In other markets, these included a cardboard deck box, a set of 25 stickers for each starter, a cardboard and plastic cardholder, and a set of four larger stickers that features a random region’s starter trio and Pikachu.

Look for the McDonald’s x Pokemon Happy Meal collaboration to launch on Thursday the 24th of August 2023 in stores nationwide.
