Kanye West Plans to Build a Mini-City Called the ‘Yecosystem’

Kanye West has been on a chaotic rampage of late, causing controversy everywhere he goes. Burning nearly every bridge possible, he’s been shunned and, in some cases, dropped from brands and entire industries. However, this may have been his plan all along… The billionaire’s latest project is more of an internal endeavour, with Rolling Stone reporting West has filed several trademark applications to build his mini-community – or, as he calls it, the Yecosystem.

According to the publication, Ye has planned to create his universe for years. Sources close to the musician describe it as a “self-sustained enterprise that would have its own branded homes, retail stores that sell Yecosystem-branded food items and beverages.” The trademark applications detailed plans for not just one community but several mini-cities he plans to roll out across the United States, with plans to launch the first city next year.

The trademark filings include typical products such as clothing and retail clothes. But in a first for the self-proclaimed visionary, these new filings cover a range of food and beverage products. West also plans to create various services under the Yecosystem, such as services for nutrition, beauty, interior design and a public relations firm. Additionally, filings indicate he would establish a production arm for film, television, radio, fashion, music and the arts.

It’s currently unclear at this stage where West plans to build his first campus. Atlanta has been pegged as a likely candidate considering Young Thug recently offered Ye his 100-acre plot of land after West complained Gap and Adidas had allegedly failed to fulfil contractual obligations to build Yeezy stores.
