Watch Elon Musk Get Viciously Booed at Dave Chappelle’s Comedy Show

Are you saying boo or boo-urns? If you didn’t get that reference, we feel sorry for you. For those lucky enough to experience the golden age of The Simpsons, allow us to continue with the comparison. When you think about it, Mr Burns and Elon Musk actually have a fair bit in common. Both are wealthy business moguls, and both have now copped an absolute razzing from a fierce crowd. During Dave Chappelle’s recent San Francisco comedy show, the tech billionaire received a barrage of boos as he came onstage. While phones were not allowed inside the stadium, multiple people have now leaked the footage of Musk floundering in front of the enraged mob.

“Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world,” Chappelle said while performing at the Chase Center (via Gizmodo). “Cheers and boos, I see. Elon…It sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience.”

Regardless of the brilliant quick wit displayed by Chappelle, it seems The Bay Area hasn’t taken warmly towards the new Twitter owner. Musk finalised the purchase of the social media platform in October and immediately caused controversy by implementing a slew of new policies. Adding fuel to the fire, he also made a series of drastic layoffs and has cracked the whipped with those still remaining on the staff.

Accustomed to standing ovations from adoring fans at Tesla and SpaceX conventions, the hostility seemed to stun the richest man in the world. Attempting to save face after the embarrassing scenes, Musk predictably took to Twitter to address the boos, which reeked of desperation.

“Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter),” Musk said.

“It’s almost as if I’ve offended SF’s unhinged leftists … but nahhh.”

To say it was 90% cheers is laughable, but check it out for yourself in the video above.
