The Zagato models from luxury auto maker Aston Martin include a Speedster, a coupe, a convertible, and the shooting brake. If you’re not familiar with what a shooting brake is, it’s a type of automobile with a specific car body style that was first originated by horse-drawn wagons used to transport shooting parties. The cars combine elements of a station wagon and a coupe. Aston Martin took that style and, as you might expect, dressed it up considerably.
As stunning as the body is of the shooting brake, the interior is even more so. The leather is prolific, and debossed with a “Z” in each seat. Despite the history of the shooting brake being a vehicle to transport parties, this brake has a cargo area where the back row of seats would be, making it a two-seater. Even in the back where you’d stow your gear, there’s plenty of leather. Combined with a carbon fiber panel, the stowage is striking. Above it all, from the driver’s seat to the rear hatch is a skylight, opening the vehicle up for beautiful views and natural light.
There will only be 99 of these Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brakes, with a retail price of $500,000.
