Vintage Model: 1973 Aston Martin Up for Auction
Bonham’s auction house has another Aston Martin on the lot and this one is special. The 4.2-Litre Sports Saloon was one of only 70 built, has a continuous history since 1976, only 48,000 miles on it, and was fully restored and upgraded in 2013.
There are certain cars that elicit emotions from just the look of them, and this Aston Martin certainly fits that bill. At first glance, you may even see tones of a muscle car, but do not be fooled, this is finely tuned and highly detailed machine that has a lot more to offer than just power.
From cascading lines pouring from front to rear, the car’s silhouette is almost bullet-like in shape. These clean lines are accentuated by a wide and sloping windshield occupying nearly half of the frontal frame. Grounded by sturdy wheels and tined hubcaps, the ’73 screams individuality and doesn’t look like anything else on the road, today. With aggressive vents on the hood and frontal sides, the Aston Martin rides angry and has the power to back it up. After being restored, on the interior you will find red leather seating and dash controls that make it seem like the car could take flight at any time.
While still expensive, this car is a bit more affordable than some of the items we’ve seen on Bonhams, at 130,000 – 160,000 US dollars, this might be worth a gander.
