At long last, we revisit the Dutton ranch for season five of the hit modern Western series Yellowstonebut that’s not all. Here are the best new series coming to Stan in November 2022.

Yellowstone: Season 5

Arguably the biggest release of the year, Yellowstone season five finally hits Stan on November 14, kicking off with a monster television event. The fifth instalment in the Dutton family’s quest to keep their stranglehold on the local land will kick off with a special two-hour event episode, with further episodes to drop on Mondays. Best of all, Stan and production company Paramount have also dropped a first look at the new season which promises to answer some of the lingering questions we’ve had since the fourth season finished up. Namely, will John win his battle for governor of Montana over Jamie.

The trailer is titled ‘Power has a Price’, and also sees Caroline seemingly make good on her threat to put Beth in prison, while a few long-lost characters appear set to be reintroduced. Led by Kevin Costner, Yellowstone has firmed as the number one drama on U.S. cable TV. Fan favourites Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser and Jacki Weaver are all poised to slip back in the saddle for the brand-new season.

Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin

The spin-off no one asked for is hitting Stan this month, when Adam Devine’s all-singing, all-dancing knob arrives on November 24. Bumper in Berlin sees the Pitch Perfect villain get his own series, tackling the ultra-cool and modernist German culture hub for a true fish-out-of-water experience. Set several years after his last appearance in Pitch Perfect, the series follows the failed a capella singer attempt to revive his music career after one of his songs becomes a big hit in Berlin. The series also stars Sarah Hyland and Jameela Jamil, and has been developed by Elizabeth Banks. We aren’t expecting this one to be tight butthole but we’ll find out.

Dangerous Liaisons

One from the Marie Antoinette playbook, Dangerous Liaisons sees some of the best young talent on display. Starring Alice Englert (The Power of the Dog) and Nicholas Denton (Glitch), the series is a bold prelude to Laclos’ classic 18th-century novel and focuses on Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont. The two protagonists meet as passionate young lovers in Paris on the eve of the revolution, but all is not as it seems.

According to the official synopsis, Dangerous Liaisons will take audiences through wonder and terror, beauty and degradation, seduction and deception in pre-revolutionary Paris. Driven to right the wrongs of their past, the young couple’s survival depends on their skills of seduction and manipulation of not only the French nobility but of each other.

Top Gear

The shattered remains of what used to be the best automotive show on television are still chugging along for another season. Far from the Clarkson, Hammond, May days of old, Top Gear isn’t exactly what it used to be, but it’s still an alright foray into the car world. Now in its historic 33rd season, the upcoming iteration sees the return of exuberant hosts Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris – not to mention the return of fan-favourite, The Stig.

One of Stan’s best series is back for a third run, with Hidden finally getting the recognition it deserves. The Welsh crime drama stars Sian Reese-Williams and Siôn Alun Davies as they attempt to unearth a devilish mystery. When a local man’s body is found in a remote river,  DCI Cadi John gets embroiled in the case which bears the signs of a brutal and frenzied attack. This time around, DCI Cadi John’s relationship with pathologist Rachel West has flourished – despite the secrets Cadi keeps from her. Juicy.

While original feature films and movie premieres aren’t exactly in Stan’s wheelhouse, the streaming platform has served up on major release this month. Here are the best new movies coming to Stan in November 2022.

Poker Face

Big Russ is back in action and what a sight it is. Crowe plays tech billionaire and gambler Jake Foley who offers his ragtag mob of friends a night they’ll never forget, with a catch. They’ll each have the chance to win more money than they’ve ever dreamed of, however, to play, they’ll have to give up the one thing they spend their lives trying to keep… their secrets.

In addition to starring in the lead role, Crowe takes up directorial duties and he’s tapped some serious talent to join him. Poker Face also sees Liam Hemsworth, RZA, Brooke Satchwell and Elsa Pataky make an appearance for one all-star Aussie smash.

Following the success of Netflix’s Dahmer series, Stan is reprising the murderers of the past, starting with Rodney Alcala. Dating Death explores how the budding UCLA and NYU photography student was able to prey on both young women and children and would trap his unsuspecting targets across Los Angeles and New York throughout the 1970s.
