Twitter is Losing its Mind Over New Dating Show ‘Milf Manor’

Milf Manor sounds like something you’d see in a teenage boys’ search history. However, the youth won’t have to venture online to fulfil their fantasies as TLC just announced a new reality show featuring “hot mums” looking for love with men half their age – until they’re presented with a “shocking twist”. While this production is another example of our declining civilisation, does anybody know where you can sign up for season 2? Asking for a friend…

Set to start next month, the program will follow “eight confident and strong-minded women who leave home for the chance to find love at a paradise destination”. While we remain hopeful for these mature-aged ladies, we suspect “love” will be the last item chosen on the Milf menu for these high-testosterone male contestants.

Unsurprisingly, the promotional trailer has sent the internet into a frenzy, racking over 4 million views on Twitter in less than 24 hours alone. Many recalled an old 30 Rock joke about a fictional show titled “Milf Island”, a spoof on how ridiculous reality TV was beginning to appear over a decade ago. Well, it turns out reality is equally as strange as fiction.

Under the viral post, many begged to be a contestant, and others expressed disgust, but it seemed everyone had an opinion – just like the producers planned. NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik reacted, “Your periodic reminder that TLC originally stood for… The Learning Channel.”

Another user commented, “No better example of America’s trajectory than the evolution of ‘The Learning Channel.’”

A group of online detectives have speculated that the “shocking twist” will be that the young men will be each other’s sons. “Ok, I’m fascinated by the logistics of this, if the twist is the men are the women’s sons,” one user responded. “There can only be so many women who want to date men their son’s age, where their son also wants to date women their mom’s age, and both are happy to do so in the same house on television.”

Others had a more serious tone, highlighting the “double standard’ view of men dating younger women. Some also vented their frustration over TLC’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, which has laid off hundreds of CNN employees in recent weeks and cancelled Batgirl for financial reasons but still managed to fit Milf Manor in the budget.
