The Hunter Becomes the Hunted in First ‘You’ Season 4 Trailer
Things aren’t looking up for Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg in the very first trailer for Netflix’s You season four part one, as our anti-hero dabbles between finding his true love and apparently a new killer. The hit psychological thriller is all set to return next month and has been split into two parts, with part two dropping on March 9. You season four part one will pick things up right where season three left off, resuming the adventures of Joe as he moves to London to outrun his past life.

The debut trailer reveals plenty of things about our protagonist’s life, his mental state and the people he’s going to encounter on his way. Baked into the story is a murder mystery that Joe Goldberg finds himself in the middle of, revealing Joe isn’t the only murderer in town.
The You season four trailer cuts right to the chase, opening with our protagonist, who appears to be high out of his mind at some sort of fancy party, when a stranger confronts him with the question, “Why are you here?” Following this, the trailer gives us our first look at Tati Gabrielle’s Marienne Bellamy (Joe’s love interest), who left the country after knowing Joe’s true identity.

The girls continue interrogating Joe at the party, asking questions like, “Did you kill someone?” “or did someone break your heart?” Oouf, these girls seem to catch on quickly! The big moment arrives when Penn Badgley’s character utters his very first lines, asking, “Did you break my heart, Marienne?” We then see Tati Gabrielle’s Marienne turning around and recognising Joe. Penn Badgley further continues by saying, “Heartbreak is always a catalyst for a new path.”
The trailer then kicks things up a notch revealing the life of Jonathan Moore in the city of London, who has now taken up a teaching gig and is apparently liking the new role. A brief shot of Joe and Marienne is shown off too in which Marienne expresses, “You’re a murderer, Joe.” However, Joe seems hell-bent on proving that it’s not the case.

Staying low-key for Joe in London is turning out to be a tough job, as he finds himself in the middle of “the most insane, damaged people on Earth: a circle of privileged douchebags.” The trailer even reveals that another killer is loose on the streets of London, eliminating the “privileged douchebags”, called the Eat the Rich Killer. But that’s not the worst of it all.
The hunter finally becomes the prey, as Goldberg starts getting anonymous cryptic messages from an unknown somebody who, for some reason is dying to get Joe’s attention. With the introduction of this mystery character, You is definitely planning on shaking things up for both audiences and the characters. You season four part one drops on Netflix on February 9.
