Oakley x Brain Dead Sunglasses Capsule Sees Experimentation and Functionality Intersect
Known for pushing the limits through both function and aesthetics, Oakley has been one of the leading product design and sport performance brands in the world. In its latest collaboration with legendary streetwear and design studio Brain Dead, Oakley has revived the Radar EV Path and Plazma sunglasses silhouettes. Of course, both have all the classic “speed dealer” vibes you’ve been looking for combined with a Gorpcore and Cyberpunk twist.
When creating this capsule collection, the Brain Dead Team of artists and designers from around the world, imagined the cross-section between art, design, experimentation and functionality that desires to expand the mind and bring to life ideas from Oakley’s alt imagination.

The capsule collection features four exclusive Oakley Factory Team x Brain Dead sunglasses, including the Radar EV Path and the Plazma, each in two distinct and context-dense plasmas. The rich colours of the collection, green and orange, are inspired by the results of combining elements and pressure from a long and foregone craft. After attempting a series of prototypes, the team managed to recreate the ancient technique of injecting fire-like O-Matter frame material into the Radar EV Path and Plazma’s chassis, accomplishing a stunning hue throughout each pair.
“Many of Oakley’s designs are just coming into the contemporary due to how futuristic their initial concepts were… So, each pair in our new collection looks like it could’ve fallen from a mothership or broken free from a meteor to hungry humans below,” said Kyle Ng, founder and creative director of Brain Dead.
The Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Team Radar EV Path Green with Prizm Sapphire features a jade-coloured pigment. Whilst the Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Team Radar EV Path Orange with Prizm Violet features a rich orange colour. The jade pair hints at the earth’s oldest forests, while the orange is an attempt at capturing the essence of liquid lava in a frame. Perfectly contained, the orange melts into a violet-tinted lens for a unique finish.
Each pair in the Oakley Factory Team x Brain Dead sunglasses capsule collection is equipped with Prizm Lens Technology, which heightens the beautiful details of the world around you.
The Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Team capsule collection is available now via wearebraindead.com and on oakley.com. It will also be available in select Oakley retailers worldwide. Prices start from AUD$325.
