Mytheresa built its name on curation rather than volume, and the menswear side of the business now runs to more than 200 international labels. The summer edit is where that shows up best. Zegna, Loro Piana and Brioni cover the tailoring, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent and Tom Ford cover the statement end, and Acne Studios, Dries Van Noten and The Row handle everything quieter.

Two edits are doing the heavy lifting right now. The Summer Tailoring Edit is built for weddings, warm-weather offices and end of summer events, while the Vacation Shop covers what actually goes in the case. We’ve pulled five looks from the current campaign to show how the range hangs together, and where to start.

5 Summer Looks From the Mytheresa Menswear Edit At a Glance

1. The Unstructured Check Blazer

A single-breasted linen blazer in a soft Prince of Wales check, worn open over a white shirt with no tie. There’s no shoulder padding, so it moves like a cardigan and still reads as tailoring, and the check stops it looking like a suit jacket that has lost its trousers.

This is the piece that earns its keep between now and the end of wedding season. Take it with cream or stone trousers in daylight, then go darker underneath for dinner.

  • Cut: Single-breasted, unstructured
  • Fabric: Linen-blend check
  • Wear it with: Open-collar shirt, no tie

2. The Navy Linen Suit, Worn With a Polo

Swapping the shirt and tie for a white pique polo is the easiest way to take a suit into summer without looking like you got dressed in a hurry. The collar sits over the lapel, the linen creases on purpose, and the whole thing still holds up if lunch turns into something more formal.

Navy does the work here. It’s the one suit colour that reads correctly at a wedding, a work dinner and a Friday in August, which is why it’s usually the first thing back in the new arrivals each season.

  • Cut: Two-piece, soft shoulder
  • Fabric: Linen
  • Wear it with: White pique polo, loafers

3. The Double-Breasted Pinstripe Suit

The dressiest look in the edit. A charcoal pinstripe double-breasted suit with peak lapels, a white shirt and a navy polka-dot tie, which is about as classic as menswear gets.

Double-breasted suits ask for a bit of confidence and pay it back. Keep the jacket buttoned when you’re standing, keep the trousers full through the leg, and let the stripe do the talking.

  • Cut: Double-breasted, peak lapel
  • Fabric: Pinstripe wool
  • Wear it with: White shirt, patterned tie

4. The Terry Camp-Collar Co-Ord

Green and white stripes, towelling texture, matching shorts. A co-ord is the most useful thing you can pack because it’s two outfits that already agree with each other, and terry handles a wet swimsuit far better than linen does.

Wear it as a set by the pool, then break it up. The shirt goes over white trousers for dinner, and the shorts work with a plain tank the next morning. The rest of the Vacation Shop is built on the same logic.

  • Cut: Camp-collar shirt and matching shorts
  • Fabric: Terry towelling
  • Wear it with: Leather flip-flops, dark sunglasses
  • Where to shop: Mytheresa Vacation Shop

5. The Hooded Linen Pullover

A hooded pullover in off-white, worn with a printed neckerchief and matching trousers. It starts as a beach cover-up and becomes the thing you keep on through lunch, which is the entire point of resort dressing.

The neckerchief is doing more than it looks. A scarf, a decent pair of sunglasses and one good piece of jewellery are what separate a holiday outfit from a holiday uniform, and they all live in accessories.

  • Cut: Hooded pullover, relaxed
  • Fabric: Cotton and linen
  • Wear it with: Printed neckerchief, matching trousers

How to Shop the Mytheresa Menswear Edit

Start with the edit that matches the occasion. The Summer Tailoring Edit is built around weddings, events and warm-weather offices, while the Vacation Shop covers swim shorts, resort shirts, co-ords and the rest of what goes in the case. Free premium delivery applies to UK orders over £300.

If you shop by label rather than by category, the designer index runs past 200 names, with Zegna, Loro Piana and Brioni on tailoring and Bottega Veneta, Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent and Tom Ford covering everything louder. Shoes and bags sit in their own sections, the sale is worth a look before you pay full price, and the LIFE edit extends the same curation to womenswear, kidswear and homeware.
