Oakley‘s ’90s Jacket sunglasses are some of the most recognisable wraparound frames the brand has ever made. First hitting the scene in 1994, the Eye Jacket helped establish the sculpted wraparound look Oakley carried through models like the Straight Jacket and Minute. Three decades later, those originals still hold plenty of collector appeal, which usually means that whenever Oakley does an archival reissue, stock rarely lasts. Instead of reaching back for another one-for-one revival, Oakley is giving that iconic Jacket look a new way back in with the Oakley Portal Jacket.
Rather than recreating a single old frame, Portal Jacket borrows the sculpted contours and high-wrap shape of Oakley’s wider Jacket era and turns them into a new everyday model in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2026 Jackets family. It’s one of several new additions to the returning Jackets family, with Portal Jacket serving as its more accessible everyday expression of that unmistakable ’90s shape.
Underneath the throwback shape is modern Oakley hardware, including an O-Matter frame and Prizm lenses across the range. Australian pricing runs from AUD$225 to AUD$305 depending on lens and finish.

An Iconic ’90s Shape With 2026 Hardware
The Portal Jacket gets its eye-catching shape from a 4×6 twin toric lens and high-wrap frame geometry, channelling the smooth, sculpted design language of Eye Jacket, Straight Jacket and Minute without copying any of them outright. The result is recognisably ’90s Oakley, but the hardware is 2026.
Oakley builds the frame from its O-Matter material, which the brand says is strong and flexible enough to resist shifting or deforming over time. Every version also gets Prizm lenses designed to boost colour and contrast, while the more expensive polarised configurations add glare reduction.
For all the talk of bringing an icon back, Oakley hasn’t overcomplicated its latest addition. Then again, choosing a pair of speed dealers was never going to be entirely sensible. The harder decision is which colour to pick.
Matte Clear with Prizm Sapphire lenses starts at AUD$225; Matte Aubergine with Prizm Road Black is AUD$225, while the Cream/Prizm Tungsten Polarised and Polished Black/Prizm Black Polarised versions rise to AUD$305.
