The latest premium sneaker from Oliver Cabell is as rare as they come. Limited to 50 pairs, there’s a very good chance these beauties will have sold out long before you read this. The good news is that after a while, Oliver Cabell tends to revive designs, adding tweaks and new colourways while remaining faithful to the original. So there’s still a chance to get your hands (and feet) on a pair, or something similar.
Oliver Cabell took its popular retro-inspired German Army Trainer, or GAT and partnered with French tannery Remy Carriat, revered for its work with luxury brands, most notably Hermes. The Carriat family has been making beautiful full grain buffalo leather since 1927.
The Oliver Cabell x Remy Carriat GAT is made using young bull leather with a lightly buffed grain, which is how the unique matte finish was achieved. The nubuck leather is 3M treated during the dyeing process, which makes the article both water and oil-resistant. Additionally, each bull hide used in production has its own unique texture and look, making no two pairs the same. Again, sorry you can’t currently buy a pair.
All Oliver Cabell footwear is released in limited quantities with new styles debuting each week. By releasing new styles weekly, the aim is to shake up the industry and disrupt traditional seasonal collections.
“Producing styles in limited quantities allows us to release more unique product and be more creative with silhouettes and materials,” says Scott Gabrielson, Founder of Oliver Cabell.
The GAT is still available in jet black and monochrome colourways. Plus, on July 23, Oliver Cabell and Remy Carriat are releasing the Low 1 sneaker with a similar textured look and colour. You can find this sneaker and all future designs at the Coming Soon page.
All shoes come in a branded box with cotton dust bag.
