Dutch Football Fan Goes Viral After Carrying 48 Beers

All hail the new lord of the brew. At an FC Twente game against arch-rivals Willem II on Sunday, local man Christiaan Roetgering reached a level of athletic performance the likes have never been witnessed before. In a move that will no doubt be talked about for years, the Dutch football fan carried a ridiculous 48 beers at once.

According to The Sun, the thirsty 23-year-old was following usual protocol, heading to the game to watch his club host Eredivisie rivals Willem II. When his throat became parched, Roetgering ventured to the bar and like most of us on a night out, decided to double up. Faced with 48 beers, the young lad swifty stacked up five trays of lager and disappeared into the stadium, much to the astonishment of social media.

Now, while responsible service of alcohol may prevent the feat from being replicated here in Australia, in Denmark, itโ€™s all above board. In fact, Twenteโ€™s stadium is aptly sponsored by De Grolsch Veste brewery. But despite his heroic efforts, Roetgering isnโ€™t basking in the glory.

โ€œI always go to the game with a group of friends, and each time one of us has the job of getting the beers in. This time it was my turn, and I didnโ€™t fancy having to keep going back and forth to the bar. So I decided to get everything in one visit,โ€ he said. โ€œI had to carry the trays through a passageway and up some stairs, but it all went fine. But itโ€™s not a record โ€“ my friend Jochen has managed in the past to carry 50 beers in one go.โ€

For what itโ€™s worth, Roetgeringโ€™s beloved Twente blew an early lead and wound up in a 1-1 draw with Willem II but it matters less. The internet has found a new hero and he is unshakable in his quest for lager. Truly, this is the ideal make body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
