Connor McGregor may not have had a fight in the last two years, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been up to anything. McGregor has been marketing his brand, and has expanded into the alcohol market with Proper No. 12.
McGregor partnered with the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery located in Ireland from a blend of golden grain and full-flavor malted barley and is then aged for a minimum of three years in used American bourbon barrels. Proper No. 12 has hints of vanilla with a honey sweetness and a flavor of toasted wood. The whiskey is triple-distilled and has no age statement.
The name, Proper No. 12, comes from the neighborhood where McGregor grew up—Dublin 12 of Crumlin.
McGregor joins a long list of celebrities with endorsed whiskey, including the likes of Mila Kunis, Matthew McConaughey, and David Beckham. While McGregor’s bread and butter will no doubt remain fighting, even Dana White acknowledges the move to be a smart one, prophesying that the whiskey will probably make McGregor a billionaire. Add this new venture to his custom suit line, and McGregor definitely seems to be heading in the right direction.
