Redbreast Launches First Australian Single Cask Exclusive

The start of a new season is always a good time to try something fresh whiskey lovers, so why not have a red instead? Like you really need your arm (and drinking hand) twisted. Our buds over at our favourite whisky co-op – Barrel & Batch- have just released their March marvel – a 19-year-old Redbreast – to help you make the end of summer just a little bit easier. Actually, when you consider the shitty summer that we’ve all just endured, you deserve to treat yourself to some of the good stuff.

Straight out of the Middleton Distillery in picturesque County Cork, this single pot still, Irish whiskey is set to become an instant classic for all whisky-nuts down under, and for good reason. The release of this dapper Oloroso Sherry marks the first-ever Redbreast Single Cask bottled exclusively for Aussie whisky drinkers. Talk about the luck of the Irish! We’re told this special project has been fermenting for more than 18 months and we are here to tell you that all the blood, sweat and tears have been well and truly worth it.

In fact, one could argue that Redbreast is to Irish whisky what The Macallan is to Scotch; and what Pappy Van Winkle is to bourbon: a true icon of the whisky world. Everyone knows that appreciation of Irish Whisky is exploding right across the globe right now and Redbreast is certainly out in front waving the Irish flag loudly and proudly.

“Appreciation of Irish Whiskey is booming worldwide. Age statement and single cask whiskies are selling at ridiculous prices overseas and are going to be much harder to source in the coming years,” Barrel & Batch wrote. “Thanks again to everyone for supporting Barrel & Batch and making amazing opportunities like this happen.”

With age statement and single cask whiskies selling at crazy prices the whole world over at the moment, Barrel & Batch members will want to get in early and take advantage of the mate’s rates on offer. What’s more, for anyone who signs up for their waitlist, the Barrel & Batch boys are promising to toss in a free 30ml sampler, just so you can wet your whistle ASAP. There’s no having to wait for a special occasion to crack your bottle open; for purchasing a bottle of Redbreast is a special occasion in itself. That’s how much the Barrel & Batch crew think you will rate their latest goodness to drop. And at $450 – we tend to agree.

Paddy’s Day has certainly come early this year fellas, so join the waitlist via the Barrel and Batch website. FYI – to celebrate their milestone moment, Barrel & Batch will be hosting Redbreast events at Websters Bar in Sydney and New Sydney Hotel in Hobart later this month. Stay tuned for more info.
