  • Fireball has unveiled a $50 walking cane containing a concealed compartment that holds eight 50 mL Fireball Minis to celebrate the launch of Blazin’ Apple.
  • Limited to just 50 advertised units, the cane comes with a granny wig and Fireball scrunchie, although you’ll need to supply your own whisky.
  • The stunt coincides with Grandparents Day on 25 October and the arrival of Fireball’s first flavour extension in Australia.

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But in the world of Fireball whisky, apparently eight mini bottles stashed inside a walking cane will do just fine. With Grandparents Day just around the corner, the cinnamon whisky brand is taking the proverb, and a few Granny Smith apples, as far as it can go with a bung leg at 88.

To celebrate the Australian launch of Fireball Blazin’ Apple, the Canadian brand has unveiled a limited-edition walking cane with a concealed tube running down its frame that’s capable of more than just keeping you upright. The compartment holds eight 50 mL Fireball Minis, for a total of 400 mL (only 300 mL short of a full 700 mL bottle) inside something you’d expect to see leaning against the benches at your local bowls club while Doris makes a move for the jack.

For only $50, you can get your hands on one of the 50 canes available, complete with a granny wig and a Fireball scrunchie to put your hair back and cruise down the pavement. Sadly, the cane arrives ā€œbooze-freeā€, which means the only thing missing from this collaboration is the whisky.

Not Your Average Granny Smith

The ridiculous accessory marks the arrival of Fireball Blazin’ Apple, the brand’s first flavour extension launch in Australia. If you’ve ever mixed Fireball with apple juice or cider, you’ll have a fairly good idea of what they’re trying to recreate here. As the name suggests, it blends the crisp apple flavour of a Granny Smith with Fireball’s signature cinnamon kick. So depending on the occasion, you’ve got three options: 200mL and 700mL bottles to share with the boys, or some 50 mL Minis for the cane.

Fireball Australia has recruited 75-year-old TikTok personality Lorraine Bryant, better known as Groovey Nanny Granny, as its Social Media Manager. The former go-go dancer and Guinness World Record holder is here to help the brand find Australia’s Spiciest Granny. And while she’s certainly got the spice, she’s not quite old enough to remember Citizen Kane hitting cinemas in 1941.

ā€œGrandparents Day gave us the perfect excuse to take the Granny Smith idea somewhere unexpected, and turning a walking cane into a whisky smuggler felt like just the right amount of rogue,ā€ said Fireball Brand Manager Christina Hani.

Where To Get Your Own Fireball Walking Cane?

Somewhere, Dr Gregory House is looking at his walking cane and wondering why he never thought to fill it with whisky. Because who wouldn’t love rocking up to your next gathering with a bottle of whisky in one hand and a cane stashed with more minis for kick-ons? Fireball’s version trades his famous flame decals for a dark woodgrain finish, gold-coloured fittings, and a brown wrist strap, with transparent sections running down the shaft to reveal the hidden miniature bottles inside.

Oh, and one more thing: don’t expect it to make you any steadier on your feet. Because, as the fine print reads, the Fireball Walking Canes are not certified walking aids and are for novelty purposes only.

The limited-edition Fireball Walking Cane bundle costs $50 through the Fireball Merch Store, and Fireball says only 50 will be available for the Australian promotion. The timing aligns with Grandparents Day on Sunday, 25 October, but availability will depend on how quickly the small run sells out. If they sell out before you can snag one, you can put your fifty bucks toward Fireball Minis at your local bottle shop for around $5 a pop.
