The Ritz-Carlton just got a whole lot … ritzier. Rather than the typical soda, or candy bar and snacks vending machine next to the ice machine, Ritz-Carlton is putting in vending machines that offer champagne.
The amenity upgrade includes mini bottles of Moët Imperial Brut and Imperial Rose. The champagnes are maintained by a sommelier and are kept at an ideal one-degree Celsius.
Parents need not worry, as the machines only accept gold tokens that can be purchased at the front desk. And you don’t have to worry about the champagne getting all shook up—the vending machine includes a mechanism for a soft landing.
So far, resorts in Naples, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Las Vegas, Nevada (of course); and San Antonio and San Diego, California, have received the machines. Ritz-Carlton paired with Moet & Chandon to bring the automatic dispensers to their hotels. The 200ml bottles of champagne sell for USD$25 each.
This isn’t the first time a champagne vending machine has made an appearance. Back in 2013, Moet & Chandon installed 320-bottle vending machine at the Selfridges department store in London for the holiday season. It also popped up at London’s All Bar One in Leicester Square.
Its first stateside appearance was in 2016 at the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas (now the Waldorf Astoria). It’s even rumored that model Chrissy Teigen and musician John Legend gave one to reality TV star Kris Jenner as a housewarming gift.
