Previous iterations such as the Ginger Beer Cask series or its recent Stout Cask limited release have gone on to become fan favourites and we expect similar results from the latest single malt. Starward Muscat continues the trend of bold but calculated production methods, undergoing four years of maturation inside Muscat barrels to deliver its one-of-a-kind flavour profile.

Bursting With Flavour

Starward Muscat Single Malt Whisky is the distillery’s first whisky to undergo full maturation inside a combination of wet-filled and charred Muscat casks (sourced directly from the Rutherglen, Victoria wine region).

The grape’s caramelised undertones blend seamlessly with the distillery’s award-winning flavour profile to generate a deep auburn colour, rich aromas of cinnamon, raisin and lychee, and the delicious taste of hot cross buns, toasted almond, raisin, and cinnamon. A dry finish of soft oak spice and anise rounds out the exemplary balance between sweetness and spice. This one goes out to whisky explorers in search of their next palate-popping discovery.

And in further flavour news, Starward invited acclaimed pastry chef Anna Polyviou to its Port Melbourne distillery to discover this new release. Anna has taken inspiration from the flavours of the whisky, going on to create an exclusive tasting menu to pair beautifully with Starward’s overall range.

On 16 August in Observatory Bar at The Langham, Sydney, discover a journey for the senses – with delicious dishes such as whisky-cured salmon, pan-fried wagyu with truffle jus and salted Muscat whisky caramel. The evening will conclude with a tasting of the limited Muscat Projects release, and each guest will have a guaranteed opportunity to purchase a bottle for themselves.
