Prime Video is Opening a Cricket Cafe in Melbourne for the T20 World Cup

Nice, Gary. To celebrate the Super Eight phase of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this month, Prime Video is launching a one-of-a-kind Cricket Cafe in Melbourne. On Monday, 24 June, the streamer will transform South Yarra institution Rustica into a limited-overs oasis, allowing cricket fans to take in all the action of the modified game with a fresh brew in hand.

According to Prime Video, the official streaming partner of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, fans are welcome to head down to the Cricket Cafe from 6am to grab a coffee on the house, while stocks last and follow the action on the big screens located inside the café. No designs of the cafe have been released just yet, but Prime Video shared a quick artist’s impression of what we can expect come game time.

Even Aussie test batsman Usman Khawaja is getting in on the action, switching from serving up pies to serving up piping hot Flat Whites. The Prime Video ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ambassador will play barista for the day, offering guests a selection of Melbourne’s freshest coffee, alongside special edition pastries, including a ‘U’ shaped cruller for Uzzy.

As one of the tournament favourites, Australia is aiming to make history this time around. If successful, the national team will become the first to hold all three Men’s ICC trophies simultaneously, following their victories in the ICC World Test Championship Final and Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023. If that doesn’t get your milked steamed and coffee percolated, maybe you just aren’t a cricket fan. The final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be held on Sunday 30 June, so there is plenty of time to pledge your allegiance and get hooked into the tournament.

The Prime Video Cricket Café will run all day on Monday, 24 June, at Rustica in South Yarra, just in time for the Super Eight phase of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Uzzy will be in fine form and while I’m not entirely sure how much a pastry will set you back, I can only hope Prime Video has valued them at a Riche Benaud-approved price of two for $2.22.
