Starward Ready-to-Drink Canned Cocktails

Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Starward whisky. The Melbourne distillery has long been one of my favourite Aussie producers and now they’re getting into canned cocktails. This week Starward launched its first-ever ready-to-drink series with three new releases – Starward Whisky, Tonic and Juicy Ruby Grapefruit, Starward Whisky, Ginger Beer and Zesty Orange and Starward Whisky, Soda and Tangy Finger Lime. Leading into Christmas, I can’t think of a better way to stay refreshed and rehydrated this silly season/

Westward Whiskey Cascadia Creative Series

I had the pleasure of trying the Westward Cascadia Creative Series in Australia, exclusively available through for The Whisky Club (which if you haven’t already signed up for, you definitely should!). Barrels were hand-selected by Westward Whiskey’s Head Distiller Miles Munroe and The Whisky Club, where the Cascadia Creative Series features Westward Whiskey Single Barrel Releases at Cask Strength, in collaboration with Dominio IV Wines.

The December 2023 release will include the world-exclusive Westward Whiskey Dominio IV Single Barrel Tempranillo Whiskey at Cask Strength, as well as the re-release of the sell-out success, Westward Whiskey Dominio IV Single Barrel Pinot Noir Whiskey at Cask Strength. Both whiskies are $195 and have an ABV of 62.5% which will absolutely knock your socks off and are bottled straight from the barrel at the Westward Whiskey Distillery in Oregon, where the hot, dry summer and cool wet winters create the ideal environment to create a world-class whiskey. If you haven’t already, you can check out Man of Many’s own Westward Whiskey here.

First Thing Underwear

Denise Barnes – Head of Branded Content

When I first saw First Thing, I couldn’t help but think of it as an Australian version of Skims (Kim Kardashian’s lounge and underwear brand). Positively though, First Thing is more affordable. When I received my package, I was quite impressed with the look, and more importantly, the feel of it. It is by far the softest and comfiest underwear I’ve ever owned thanks to the brand’s philosophy of making you feel good, every day. Ladies, if you’re reading this, trust me, this is a purchase you won’t regret, and Gents, if you’re considering buying your partner underwear, put the lingerie off to the side this time around and get your girl a First Thing set, I promise you she’ll love you for it, cause Afterall, what’s sexier than being comfortable in your own skin.

HELM Boots – The Hollis Teak

Richie Hall – Video Producer

“This is a pair of HELM” are the words printed on the box. Opening the lid, under the folded shoe bag are a pair of the best-selling Hollis boots in Teak. Nestled in their packaging these boots look exactly how a pair of boots should look. The perfect pair of boots are the ones that you can work hard all day in and wear to the bar that evening for a well earned drink. Before I even tried them on, I knew that these were that pair. That is the Hollis – rugged and refined.

It’s a traditional-looking handmade boot, designed in Austin, TX to meticulous detail. I’m not surprised to discover that there are over 153 steps, performed by 14 master bootmakers, involved in crafting a pair of HELM boots as the pair I’ve now got on my feet reflect that pretty clearly. Through a combination of timeless construction methods and premium leather and materials these boots are made to last. How good does that fresh-out-the-box leather smell? You’ll have to try a pair for yourself. “This is a pair of HELM” – a statement of assuredness, legacy and intent.

Instax

instax SQUARE Link | Image: instax

John Guanzon – Head of Social

There’s a new instant printer in town and it prints out cool square instax pics straight from your phone’s camera roll. The new instax SQUARE Link joins Fujifilm’s line up for beloved portable instant printers – the instax Mini, which prints small, card sized images and the instax Wide, which as the name would suggest, prints wide-aspect instant pics. The new instax SQUARE Link also features Augmented Reality Printing, which adds a QR code to your printed photo, so when you scan it with your phone, it shows some snazzy special effects on your screen – think animated doodles, changing backgrounds and text captions all popping up on your photo. The new instax printers come in two colours: a classic white or midnight green and the timing of the release couldn’t come at a better time. I reckon they’d be perfect for a Christmas gift for that hard-to-buy-for relative or to pick up for yourself. Best believe I’ll be coming back from my holidays with a wall full of instant prints!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s Motor Oil Whiskey

Rob Edwards – Branded Content Writer

While I’ve covered this whiskey before, it’s only in the last week that I’ve only managed to get my hands on a bottle and I suspect there’s a good chance it’s the only one in Australia. Few Spirits – BRMC’s collaborator on this particular drop – only ships within the USA, so if there are any American readers out there looking to get their hands on a whiskey with a genuine rock ‘n’ roll edge, this is the one for you. Finished in rum and vermouth casks and packing a strength of 50.5 per cent, Few Spirits and BRMC weren’t mucking around when they created this outstanding signature whiskey to mark the 21st anniversary of the cult band’s legendary debut album. Here’s to another two decades of whiskey-fueled sludgy garage rock.

Turonic ph950 air purifier w humidifier

Turonic PH950 Air Purifier w/Humidifier

Jacob Osborn – Staff Writer

With unhealthy air quality becoming a fact of life, a HEPA air purifier for the home becomes less of a convenience and more of a necessity. This one from Turonic leaves essentially nothing to be desired. Modern by design and effortless to set up, it springs to life with the sound, colour, and efficiency of a movie robot. My wife has already nicknamed it HAL.

Using this sleek product is as simple as pressing the power button and letting it automatically detect PM 2.5 levels in the surrounding air. It adapts accordingly and silently as it uses UV light, an air ionizer, and 8-stage purification to cleanse up to 2500 sq ft in just two hours. Wi-Fi compatibility and an adjoining remote give you additional control options from near and far alike.

Not just a purifier (and an acclaimed one at that), the Turonic PH950 also features a built-in humidifier for added functionality. Meanwhile, the product’s clean layout blends with a wide variety of modern decors. This is an essential product for one’s home that also imparts a luxurious touch and I highly recommend it.
