You don’t typically equate Dolce and Gabbana with the kitchen, but with the help of Smeg, the Italian fashion house is re-imagining what your kitchen can be. For the third time, Dolce and Gabbana have partnered with Italian appliance manufacturer Smeg, this time creating the Divina Cucina collection.

A uniquely colorful collection, the Divina Cucina as unveiled at the Milan Design Week and features two sets of matching Victoria range cooker and extractor hood, as well as Smeg’s FAB28 refrigerator. All the appliances have been crafted to celebrate the brands’ Italian heritage (Dolce and Gabbana hail from Milan, while Smeg is located in Guastalla).
The first set will instantly bring to min maiolica ceramic pottery. Depictions of Mount Etna are done on a white background. You’ll see the ruins of the Greek temple of Cator and Pollux in the Valley of the Temples, as well as other imagery from mythology. The other set is much less subdued, and tells the story of the Divina Cucina in a much more vibrant way. Golden yellow lemons, bright red cherries, prickly pears, and triangular geometric shapes known as Crocchi adorn the appliances, creating a classic Sicilian motif.
The artwork references the vegetation and landscape of Sicily as well as classic Sicilian puppet theater, all done in fiery oranges and reds. This latest collection is the next addition to previous collections, which have included a blender, a stand mixer, a toaster, a coffee machine, a citrus juicer, a kettle, a slow juicer, and refrigerators.
Outfitting your kitchen in high end appliances with a southern Italy theme is as simple as visiting the Smeg website. You can also wait until later in the year when the collection will be available at the Smeg flagship store on Regent Street in St. James’s, London.
