When he’s not in his blacked-out three-door Land Rover Defender V8, many fans thought Kanye West was driving this ‘Yeezy Cybertruck’ after a video went viral online. However, the truth is that this wedge-shaped vehicle is not a one-of-three Yeezy Truck but something called a ‘Lo-Res Car’ – a concept car designed and built by Dutch architect Rem D. Koolhass, who owns a shoe company called United Nude.
While it certainly evokes the rapper’s aesthetic, he’s never been spotted in a Lo Res Car. Still, he has been spotted in his fair share of Cybertrucks, and according to reports, he owns up to five of them.

The Lo Res Car takes the iconic Lamborghini Countach’s 3D resolution and gradually redesigns it by lowering the resolution to the point that it becomes a wedge.
United Nude says, “The vehicle can be described as a conceptual design experiment, rather than a conventional car,” and we can see why someone like Kanye, who has designed some of the most successful sneakers of our generation, could appreciate a vehicle like this.
The Lo Res Car is made from polycarbonate, has a KDS 5-kilowatt electric motor, and has an in-line seating arrangement where the passenger sits directly behind the driver. This is said to “provide a unique driving experience.” However, as the car is not street-legal and limited to 50 km/h, we’ll never know. Reading between the lines, it’s a golf cart under the skin.
In fact, the only person who knows how the Lo Res Car drives is rapper Rich the Kid, who drove it in his “New Freezer” music video (pictured above).
“Being part of this video production was a great experience. It was about experimentation and pushing boundaries, so I felt at home. And in Rich The Kid’s latest single he raps about driving a Space Coupe. For me, he’s totally rapping about this car,” said Rem D Koolhaas, Creative Director and Founder of United Nude.
In 2019, the Lo Res Car appeared at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, where it was showcased alongside other crazy concept cars at the “Disruptors Exhibit.” One of four prototypes was auctioned on Bring a Trailer for charity in partnership with the museum. It sold for $111,111 on October 15, 2021, significantly less than the $1.2 Million the viral video stated.
