Apple Watch Series 5 Now with Always-On Retina Display

Overnight, Apple announced the new and improved Apple Watch Series 5. Most notably, the watch now features an always-on retina display that never goes to sleep, so you’re no longer left staring at a black mirror waiting for the time to display.

It also comes packed with new location features such a built-in compass to current elevation, which is perfect for you outdoorsmen. It allows you to see heading, incline, latitude, longitude and current elevation. Added to this are improved health and fitures features like Activity Trends, Cycle Tracking and the Noise App.

One of our favourite features is the new International Emergency Calling, so no matter where you are, the watch can now complete international calls to emergency services. You never know how many lives this could save.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is also available in two new case materials brushed finishes with a natural titanium and a space black titanium. The classic styles like the stainless steel case in gold, silver and space black also remain. It comes in both a cellular and non-cellular variety available from September 20.

Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) starts at RRP A$649 inc. GST and Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) starts at RRP A$799 inc. GST.
