  • Tissot has shrunk its Supersport NBA chronograph from 45.5 mm to 42 mm for 2026, shaving 24 grams off the previous edition.
  • Sandblasted steel, a matte grey dial and a matching rubber strap replace the previous model’s black PVD case and basketball-textured dial.
  • Priced at AUD $775, the new edition retains the NBA shot-clock bezel, logo-tipped chronograph hand and conference-engraved caseback.

Tissot isn’t shy about its love of basketball. Previous editions of the NBA chronograph were louder than celebrating Knicks fans, bolder than LeBron James on the drive to the basket, and more than ready to dominate a game of 3-on-3. Back in January 2025, the Supersport NBA Special Edition went with a black PVD-coated case and a dial textured to mirror an actual basketball. But at 45.5 mm across and 120 g on the wrist, it’s a lot of watch to play ball.

In 2026, Tissot is heading to the opposite end of the court. Coming in for the alley-oop is a smaller, lighter and, if you can believe it, an almost entirely grey Supersport NBA chronograph. Measuring 42mm across, 11.27mm thick and weighing 96 g, the new Supersport arrives 3.5mm smaller and 24 grams lighter than its predecessor. The black PVD finish is gone, replaced by sandblasted stainless steel, a matte grey dial and a matching rubber strap. It’s still just as sporty, with an angular case and chronograph pushers.

And although everything seems to be getting more expensive, Tissot has priced the new Supersport NBA 2026 at AUD $775, thirty bucks less than last year’s model. Smaller, lighter and cleaner-looking for a little less money? It’s nothing but net. But even with the slightly pared-back edition, Tissot has managed to hide plenty of basketball Easter eggs for you to discover.

The Shot Clock Isn’t Going Anywhere

Tissot has been the official timekeeper for the NBA since 2015, and the 24-second shot clock remains front and centre, with its markings worked into the bezel. It’s a carryover from the previous edition, as is the tiny red, white and blue NBA logo on the central chronograph seconds hand.

A few smaller details might take a little more effort to spot. Those white dashed markings are borrowed from basketball court lines, while the 4 o’clock date window takes its shape from the key beneath the basket. At least you can spend longer than three seconds looking at this one without the ref blowing a whistle.

Beyond the basketball stuff, you get a Swiss quartz chronograph with 30-minute and one-tenth-second counters, sapphire crystal, Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices, and 100 metres of water resistance in case you’re playing ball in the depths of the ocean. The rubber strap also uses quick-release bars, so trading the grey for something else won’t require a call to the team’s equipment manager.

And if you do want an enormous NBA logo, flip the watch over. It’s right there on the caseback, surrounded by the cities of teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences. It’s a lot more in-your-face than the front, but that’s the beauty of putting it on the back. You don’t have to look at it every time you check your watch.

The Supersport NBA 2026 still has basketball written all over it, but Tissot has dialled things back enough that you don’t need to be sitting courtside with Spike Lee to pull it off. At 42mm, with a grey finish and a slightly smaller price tag, it’s much easier to imagine wearing this watch without feeling like you’re a walking billboard for the NBA.
