Genesis has officially unveiled its largest, most powerful, and most expensive model to date. The overnight reveal of the Genesis GV90 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco means the Korean luxury marque’s 2024 NEOLUN concept has finally become a production reality.
The 5,285 mm long SUV with a 3,245 mm wheelbase sits at the very top of the brand’s EV portfolio and will arrive in two distinct configurations: a standard seven-seat GV90 with conventional doors, and the top-of-the-range four-seat GV90 Neolun featuring the Neolun Arch Gate, which is the world’s first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach door system.
To put those exterior proportions into perspective, the GV90 directly out-scales key luxury electric competitors like the Cadillac VISTIQ. It’s 63mm longer than the VISTIQ, but the most dramatic gap lies between the wheels. The GV90’s massive 3,245mm wheelbase stretches an extra 151mm beyond the Cadillac, pushing its cabin footprint beyond that of many three-row crossovers and directly into full-size ultra-luxury territory alongside the Range Rover Long Wheelbase and Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.
Underneath the bodywork sits Genesis’ dedicated eMP platform, housing a 123.5 kWh battery that feeds dual motors producing 490 kW and 800 Nm through dual E-LSDs, multi-chamber air suspension, and active rear-wheel steering for an estimated 500 km range.
The flagship’s arrival comes as Genesis continues its Australian expansion, recording 123 local deliveries in July 2026 to reach 882 sales year-to-date, with SUVs accounting for 838 of that total. With broader Australian EV sales surging, the GV90 will give Genesis an ultra-luxury electric contender to challenge upper-large benchmarks like the BMW X7, Lexus LX, and Range Rover EV. Local Australian pricing and delivery schedules for the GV90 line-up will be confirmed following the initial global launch in late 2026.

Pillarless Neolun Arch Gate and Roll-Cage Safety Architecture
The key technical achievement of the GV90 Neolun is the Neolun Arch Gate, which eliminates the conventional central B-pillar, creating an unobstructed entry and exit pathway. This architecture relies on a custom dual-motion hinge mechanism for the rear doors that slides the panel slightly outward before rotating it back, allowing the rear coach doors to operate independently without requiring the front doors to open first.
To satisfy global crash-testing standards without a structural B-pillar, Genesis engineers reinforced the passenger cell with high-strength dual steel beams integrated directly into the door frames. The surrounding cabin structure is built 1.5 times thicker than that of standard production vehicles, fortified with integrated high-strength steel tubes and structural foam to form a hidden internal roll cage.
Occupant safety is handled by a 12-airbag system with the world’s first Roof Airbag, engineered to deploy across the glass roof panel during a rollover event to prevent ejection. High-voltage battery protection utilises ultra-high-strength side steel rails and a frontal deflector system that channels heavy chassis components underneath the vehicle during an offset crash. The brand also says that Thermal Runaway Protection (TRP) isolators separate individual cells to suppress heat spread.

Dual E-LSD Dynamics, eMP Platform And Air Suspension
Engineered around Genesis’ dedicated eMP flagship platform, the GV90 employs a dual-motor configuration producing a combined 490 kW of power and 800 Nm of torque.
The front electric motor delivers 240 kW and 350 Nm, while the rear motor outputs 250 kW and 450 Nm. Despite its mass, ranging from 3,030kg up to 3,460kg in fully optioned Neolun trim, the powertrain propels the electric SUV from 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. It also introduces Hyundai Motor Group’s first Dual E-LSD setup, mounting electronic limited-slip differentials on both axles to distribute power across all four wheels during high-speed cornering or low-traction driving. Stopping power comes from 4-piston monobloc front calipers and large-diameter brake discs.
Ride comfort and body control rely on a Multi-Chamber Air Suspension system paired with Mono-tube Dual Valve Electronic Control Suspension (ECS) dampers that adjust spring rates and damping forces. Importantly, for a vehicle of this size, Active Rear Wheel Steering (RWS) allows the rear wheels to turn up to five degrees at low speeds, reducing the turning radius to that of a mid-size vehicle.
There’s also a driver-selectable ‘Chauffeur Mode’ for passengers that dampens the initial throttle response and smooths regenerative braking transitions to prevent sudden shifts in inertia. Cabin tranquillity is further reinforced by 5mm acoustic-laminated glass across all window surfaces, structural foam injected into the main frame cavities, and a metal-coated, heated windshield that clears condensation via an internal conductive layer rather than climate-control blowers.

Executive Suite Cabin, Korean Hospitality And VFACTS EV Context
When we look inside, the GV90 removes the traditional ignition button through its New Power Control System. Pulling the outer door handle powers up the vehicle, automatically closes the door, rotates the Crystal Sphere Controller, opens the dashboard tweeter covers, and shifts the Motion Column Shifter into drive-ready position.
You certainly can’t miss it, but the dashboard centrepiece is a pop-up OLED Cinematic Display. When you’re driving in standard mode, it displays a 23.6-inch interface that combines instrument cluster telemetry and infotainment. However, when parked, a motorised mechanism raises the screen by 90 mm to expose a 24.6-inch screen running Pleos Connect, an Android Automotive OS platform integrated with generative AI via Gleo AI. Drivers also receive telemetry via a 25-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) projected onto the windscreen.
Embodying Genesis’ Son-nim hospitality philosophy, the front seats feature motorised 180-degree swivelling mechanisms that allow front occupants to rotate toward rear passengers when parked. In the four-seat Executive Suite layout, the rear cabin features a real wood-veneer floor with radiant underfloor heating inspired by traditional Korean ondol systems, alongside radiant warmers in the door armrests. VIP amenities include a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system with Dolby Atmos, an integrated refrigerator, power roll blinds, a rising trunk-noise partition, and a Smart Vision Roof with Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) film to adjust transparency across six zones.

Pricing And Availability
The Genesis GV90 will break fresh commercial ground for the Korean brand when local deliveries commence in mid-2027.
Positioned as a direct alternative to half-a-million-dollar flagship rivals like the Range Rover EV, local pricing for the standard seven-seat GV90 is expected to open near AUD$200,000. The range-topping four-seat GV90 Neolun Executive Suite, complete with pillarless coach doors and radiant-heated wood flooring, will top the range at around AUD$250,000.
Local specification details and official order books will open closer to the Australian rollout.
