Highlights from our list include the following options:
- Best overall: LILYMU
- For a date night spot: The Meat & Wine Co.
- For value for money: Temasek
- For fine dining: Oribu
Now we’ve rounded up our favourites, let’s check out the complete list.

1. LILYMU
When it comes to Parramatta restaurants, LILYMU is a must-visit. Still fairly new to the scene, it brings a Chinese-centred menu with strong South Asian vibes to Parramatta Square. We also love LILYMU for its extensive cocktail menu with our favourites including the Tuktuk Spiced Margarita, Chow Sour, and Sour Plum Negroni. Whether it’s innovative takes on Mi Goreng or classic ceviche, the menu is fresh, and fun and we’re planning on spending a lot of time here over the summer months. Our recommendation? Check out the ‘Feasting Menu’ and bring three of your best friends.

With views of the tranquil river from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the smart and stylish restaurant is a much-welcomed addition to the dining scene. It boasts an exciting combination of Middle Eastern and Southe American flare, along with modern Australian.

3. The Meat & Wine Co Parramatta
One of our favourite restaurants in Parramatta for a date night, The Meat & Wine Co. serves up great value-for-money fine dining in Sydney’s West. We love their selection of delectable meats and some of the world’s finest wines, our favourite steak being the Wagyu Rump (Marble Score 6+). Indulgent is the best word to describe this restaurant and it starts with the entrees. Choose from their selection of raw meats, and for mains, choose from skewers and an extensive menu of steaks, with everything from rump eye to rib-eye and fillets.

Bringing a touch of Europe to Western Sydney is this all-day dining brasserie. Located on Eat Street Parramatta, they offer an open-fire grill menu and an extensive selection of wines from Australia and around the world, including plenty of Burgundy’s. The space is large and extends outdoors, providing ample space for large gatherings and endless good vibes. We love Ruse’s use of fresh, seasonable ingredients, and our favourite menu items include any of the steaks, lamb rump, chicken breast, and Murray cod.

6. Willo Restaurant & Bar
Willo is one of the best restaurants in Parramatta if you feel like being boujee. The large space features an open kitchen a bar and a dining area, seamlessly married by a colour palette of natural chromatic hues. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, using Australian local produce wherever possible, to create a fresh, unique and seasonally driven menu. The menu is designed for sharing, so we recommend coming with a crew to make the most of your time at Willo.

7. Temasek Parramatta
One of the Parramatta restaurants serving up authentic Singaporean-Malay cuisine, Temasek is a famous spot among Western Sydney locals for its incredible laksa. The unpretentious vibes here mean the focus is all on the food and you can taste the passion that goes into each dish. We can’t go past their Laksa Singapura with Chicken, it’s truly life-changing, but also try the King Prawn Hae Mee soup or order a Singapore Chilli Crab ahead of your visit for a gourmet option. Our top tip is to arrive hungry because the portions here are generous.

8. Henrietta Charcoal Chicken Parramatta
One of the newest members of the Parramatta food scene, we’ve been eating Henrietta Charcoal Chicken since they opened their first restaurant on Crown Street Surry Hills. Now, Henrietta is spreading her wings and flying west with a brand-new venue in Parramatta that’s made for everything from low-key weeknight feasts to vibrant group gatherings.
“Parramatta has been on our radar for a while – it’s got a dynamic energy, a thriving food scene, and a growing appetite for bold flavours. With Lilymu already a hit in Parramatta Square, we know there’s a real love for vibrant, modern dining here, and Henrietta fits right in,” said Ibrahim Moubadder, Co-founder of ESCA Group.
There are 80 indoor seats and 20 al fresco options to choose from, and no matter what seat you’re eating from you’ll be able to enjoy the signature charcoal chicken that remains the star of the show at the new venue. It’s cooked over open flames and served with toum, pickles, Lebanese bread, and a side. Drink-wise, the curated drinks menu brings a mix of bold cocktails, local brews, and refreshing non-alcoholic options. Sour Cherry Negroni (Campari, cherry vermouth, pomegranate) anyone?

9. ORIBU
Three talented head chefs – Jay Lee, Jaybert Teves, and Bryan Paul Nery are behind the revived menu at Japanese fine-diner, Oribu in Parramatta. Jaybert’s (ex-Sokyo) sashimi creations are unbelievable, such as the watermelon-cured snapper, Jay’s (ex-Aria) fine dining-inspired lobster tail with miso beurre blanc is on another level, and Bryan’s playful Southeast Asian plates, featuring tempura prawn tacos with mango salsa are entirely smashable.
This is a 10-course degustation fine-diner, and while there are a-la-carte options available, one of the two set menus would be our recommendation. The Signature Tasting ($179pp) includes Hiramasa Kingfish Carpaccio and Glacier 51 Toothfish, while the Japanese Artistry Tasting ($350pp) elevates the experience with selections such as Oscietra Black Caviar-topped oysters and a choice between Hida A5 Wagyu or Lobster Tail as the main.

10. Bayti Restaurant
With a menu designed to be shared, Bayti Restaurant is all about creating an experience rather than a simple meal out. The menu is a set-sharing banquet menu for four or more, starting from $70pp but this often changes so it’s best to check with the restaurant. The whole experience lasts two hours, which gives you plenty of time to fill up on eggplant fatteh, kataifi-wrapped halloumi, pistachio baklava, and some. They also have live music on some nights!

11. Lola Cocina Spanish Restaurant Parramatta
For one of the best restaurants in Parramatta for Spanish cuisine, head to Lola Cocina. The menu is brimming with innovative, flavoursome dishes – try the selection of Spanish cheeses to start, then move onto tapas options including beef meatballs stuffed with manchego cheese and romesco sauce, before finishing with churros for dessert, of course. If you’re in the mood for Paella this is the place to visit in Parramatta, we struggle to go past the Paella De Marisco with fresh seafood and green peas.

Hours: Mon 5-10pm, Tues-Sun 11:30 am-4 pm & 5-10 pm

12. Pho Pasteur
Not to be confused with the Haymarket establishment that’s a little more hit-and-miss in our books, Pho Pasteur Parramatta is owned by husband and wife team, Mr & Mrs Pham, who came to Parramatta as refugees in the early ’90s. It may come as no surprise then that the Pho is as authentic as it gets. From humble beginnings, Pho Pasteur is now the go-to spot for Paramtta locals to get their fix, with a huge range of traditional Southern Vietnamese dishes up for grabs, in addition to countless Pho varieties.

13. BL Burgers
The last couple of options on our list of best restaurants in Parramatta are more ‘chains’ than stand-alone restaurants but deserve to make the list regardless. And while there are plenty of Parramatta restaurants serving up burgers, few do it better than the guys at BL Burgers. A re-creation of sorts of Sydney burger joint, Bar Luca, BL serves up all the same juicy creations, along with a few new additions, too. We can’t go past the Blame Chicanada burger, with southern fried chicken, American cheese, maple bacon, maple aioli & poutine. To-die-for.
Address: 3/188 Church St, Parramatta NSW 2150
Hours: Mon-Thur & Sun 11am-9pm, Fri-Sat 11am-10pm

14. Harvey’s Hot Sandwiches
Easily the best restaurant in Parramatta for a classic sando, Harvey’s Hot Sandwiches provides the goods. Located in the bustling Parramatta Square precinct, these make for an indulgent feed in your lunch break or pre-commute – with tonnes of American-diner-style combos up for grabs. Our favourite has to be the Muffuletta, made with mortadella, ham, salami, Harvey’s olive spread, provolone cheese and Swiss cheese.

Why You Should Trust Our List
Our list of the best restaurants in Parramatta is compiled in one simple way, eating. The Parramatta ‘Eat Street’ precinct is the inspiration for this list as the CBD has expanded to include an all-new eating hub, drawing the attention of some of the best chefs in Sydney and abroad. In this list you’ll find staple restaurants that have opened outposts in the eating hub, however, we’ve also done our best to include some local institutions and cheap eats in Parramatta. Our list includes different cuisine options, price points, and even a 300-seat restaurant that’s only open for brunch and lunch.
