It’s finally happened, team. After a long week in the office, hunkered down over the fluorescent lights of a humming MacBook, we’re finally calling it a day. The weekend has arrived and we are stepping into the Saturday setting with a bucket-load of vibes and a tonne of good cheer in hand. But before we officially tap out for the week, we’ve got one last job to file. From new swimwear to a delightful sonic endeavour, here is Man of Many’s Staff Favourites for this week.

ALDI Bun-gy Smugglers and Giant Hot Cross Bun
Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief
Each year around this time, I face a profound conundrum. As a recovering fatty with a penchant for sweets, the delicious, chocolatey goodness that is intrinsically linked with Easter forces me to exercise far more self-control than I would like. I’m usually pretty good but I must admit, the old Hot Cross Bun is my absolute kryptonite. There is just something about smashing a sugar loaf bun with fruit and cinnamon, popping it in the microwave for precisely 17 seconds and smattering it with butter that is just irresistible. It turns out that grocery chain ALDI agrees.
From next Saturday, 29 March, ALDI shoppers will be able to snag a gigantic hot cross bun, measuring a whopping 20cm in diameter and weighing more than half a kilogram. If that sounds like a dream come true, it gets better. ALSI has also teamed up with Budgy Smugglers to release a limited-edition ALDI Bun-gy Smugglers. Designed in ALDI’s signature sky blue hue and covered in buns, the new gear is priced at $58.50, with all profits going to ALDI’s national charity partner Camp Quality. It’s as if all my Easter have come at once. For those who can’t wait for the Bun-gy Smugglers to go on sale, ALDI will be giving away 100 pairs to keen ALDI shoppers via ALDI Australia’s Facebook page.

Video: How Scientology Destroyed a Popular Skateboarding Channel
Frank Arthur – Co-Founder
The internet is full of wild stories, and this is definitely one to bookmark. For anyone familiar with skateboarding content on YouTube, the name Braille Skateboarding will likely ring a bell. The channel was a powerhouse, racking up millions of views with viral videos like Skateboarding on an iPad and Kickflipping a Glass Skateboard. But just as quickly as the channel rose to success, it all came crashing down. The surprising twist? The channel’s founder, Aaron Kyro, was deeply involved in Scientology, and it was this connection that seemingly helped fuel Kyro’s success but also played a major role in its downfall.
YouTube stardom often comes with some pain, drama and a stark contrast between a creator’s public persona and their real-life struggles. This documentary-style deep dive unpacks a bizarre intersection of fun, passion, religion, money, and fame. Whether you’re a skateboarding fan or just love a good internet exposé, this is a must-watch.

Trashcan Nachos & Bottomless Margs at Henley’s
John Guanzon – Head of Social
There’s going out to celebrate, and then there’s going to celebrate with bottomless margaritas and Trashcan Nachos—guess which one we chose? Last weekend, I popped over Henley’s on King Street wharf with some friends to check out their Mexican pop-up, Motel Mexication. Henley’s on a regular day is already a good spot for an evening drink, but they’re currently sporting a 90-minute bottomless marks deal which includes not only round after round of margaritas from their menu but also bottomless corn chips, guac, and salsa. Enough said here.
On the food menu, they’ve got a DIY Taco Platter made for sharing, loaded with barbacoa beef, fried prawns, or braised shiitake mushrooms, and the ultimate nacho tower served in a mini trashcan (because why not?). Whether you’re toasting to big wins or just glad you’ve made it through the week, I’d say this is the place to do it—just be ready for another round and bring electrolytes.

M.J. Bale Saunders Tuxedo
Rob Edwards – Branded Content Editor
Please excuse the selfie above. I recently confirmed my attendance at a Vacheron Constantin event in Melbourne despite having reservations regarding the strict black-tie dress code. It had been some time since I’d attended a black-tie event, and my own black suit had come to look a little threadbare. Enter M.J. Bale to save the day.
The wonderful folk at the Aussie menswear label were kind enough to make one of their Saunders tuxedos available to me and I have to confess to being more than a little chuffed with how it came together. Made using 100 per cent superfine Merino wool from the New England region of New South Wales, the tux’s quality was undeniable and the fit felt spot on. It also offered a pleasantly surprising level of breathability on a very muggy Melbourne evening.
It’s not my place to say if I was one of the best-dressed attendees at the event—ahem—but I’ve rarely (if ever) felt quite so spiffy. It’s the kind of ensemble that makes me wish I had more excuses to wear it. And if black isn’t quite your thing, I should note that the navy version looks very sharp, too. A massive thanks to the kind people at M.J. Bale for helping me out when I was in a pickle.

Feedwell Catering
Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships
I had a beautiful long weekend down South at Mollymook last weekend. I was super excited to take the Friday off and naturally was not thinking about my Monday obligations at all. I arrived back to Sydney on Sunday afternoon and realised I had forgotten about a meeting I had the next day which required catering for 40 people. Panic began to creep in and the frantic research began. Enter Feedwell Catering. I emailed Feedwell outside of work hours and to my surprise I received an email back about an hour later. In short, they managed to turn around a large order essentially the night before and delivered it to the meeting on time. There was a great selection of sandwiches, wraps and salads, with multiple people mentioning how delicious everything tasted. If you’re ever in a catering pickle or just want great food, definitely give them a go.

Epic: The Concept Album
Dayna Aspite – Branded Content Associate
Do yourself a favour and take a journey of adventure, sorrow and revenge for your ears. A video game enthusiast and musical lover, Jorge Revera-Herrans wrote a modern sung-through adaptation of Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’. If you have a short attention span like me, this was a crazy way to learn all about the story and the hardship of a strong-willed man. The collection narrates the journey of Odysseus on his way home to Ithaca after a decade-long Trojan war. He faces various gods and mythical creatures challenging his path.
Epic consists of 9 distinct sagas (albums), each with a handful of songs that capture Odysseus’ character arc and development from a man full of faith, to a monster who would do the unspeakable to reunite with his family once more.
What makes this series even wilder is this was nothing more than a passion project of Jorge’s. Building a fan base of thousands of people over the last few years who have slowly been adapted to his process. Animators, cosplayers and storytellers all unite to give their unique take on his music and build such a positive community that there’s rumors that Jorge is in talks with a very wealthy man to make his musical dreams hit the stage. Listen to the full nine sagas on Spotify and prepare to ride the rollercoaster of emotions.

Status Anxiety – Nathaniel Wallet
Beatrix Boon – Social Video Producer
Sleek, small and oh-so practical; this wallet is my tried and true. The Nathaniel Men’s Tri-Fold Black Leather Wallet by Status Anxiety is crafted from premium full-grain Italian cowhide leather that has a super luxurious feel that ages beautifully.
It features eight card slots, each accommodating up to two cards, a window ID slot, and a spring-loaded snap coin pouch for secure coin storage. Status Anxiety is renowned for its minimalist yet functional designs, and I’ve previously enjoyed other accessories, like their hats, belts and coin pouches. The brand’s commitment to quality is evident when looking at how long its products usually last.
If you ask me, the Nathaniel Men’s Tri-Fold Black Leather Wallet is an excellent choice for those seeking a balance between form and function. Its thoughtful design and high-quality materials make it a valuable addition to any wardrobe.
