WATCH: Keanu Reeves Nunchucks Faces in the New ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ Trailer

While Matthew Perry can be as bitter as he likes, the rest of us should be eternally grateful that Keanu Reeves still walks among us if the new trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 is anything to go by. We’re excited to see everyone’s favourite vengeful assassin make his return on March 24, 2023, and while he may be one finger down after the events of 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, it looks like he’s still capable of taking down an entire room of bad guys with just his pinky (probably).

The John Wick films have always been visually spectacular, thanks to their combination of incredible stunts and combat sequences all captured with dazzling camera work in beautiful locations, and this fourth instalment looks like it might raise the bar yet again. Throughout the trailer, we see the man referred to as the Baba Yaga unloading into bad guys while tearing it up in his beautiful (but beat to hell) Mustang, from horseback in the desert, and in countless neon-tinged Blade Runner-esque locations. We also see him wailing on the face of some poor soul with nunchucks, so that’s fun.

Plenty of new faces appear to have signed up to play a part in the fourth (but not final) chapter of Reeves’ one-man rampage, with Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, and Hiroyuki Sanada all joining the Wick saga for the first time, while franchise staples Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick make a welcome return. We’ll have to wait to discover how many of their number survive to make an appearance in the already-in-production John Wick: Chapter 5.

While the plots for the Wick films have primarily just been an excuse to propel Reeves’ immaculately suited hitman from one massacre to the next, they’ve also done an impressive job of growing the lore of the world he inhabits over the years. This new trailer hints at that process continuing and we’re curious to see what the screenwriters have in store for this outing.

However things shake out, John Wick: Chapter 4 looks like a pretty good time to us. In the words of Ian McShane’s Winston, “Just have fun out there.” Come March 23, we’re pretty sure we will.
