The new Levi’s x HUMAN MADE collaboration is sure to be a treat for streetwear fans. Teaming up for Autumn / Winter 2022 the capsule collection channels the creative fluency of Japanese fashion pioneer NIGO. Playing with the past and present, the brand’s iconic “Gears for futuristic teenagers” comes with two favourite silhouettes – the 1944 Levi’s 501 Jeans and a Levi’s 506 Trucker Jacket.

What’s even more compelling about this drop is the campaign shots. With both the 501 Jean and Trucker Jacket Made in Japan, the outfits are featured in a campaign crafted by NIGO himself and shot in the historic Eirakukan Kabuki Theater. Documented to be one of the oldest Kabuki theatres in the country, the colours and elements of the scenery pair perfectly with the past-meets-present dynamic shaping the release.
This also isn’t the first time NIGO has collaborated with Levi’s. A self-proclaimed collector of the brand’s denim, NIGO has previous experience delving into the jeans’ archives. Last summer, NIGO recreated some heritage designs for a one-of-a-kind Levi’s x NIGO collaboration. Now returning with a fresh perspective for Spring 2022, Levi’s has worked with HUMAN MADE to create items that are both timeless in style and function.
Taking a closer look at Levi’s HUMAN MADE 506 Trucker Jacket, the coat features an embroidered HUMAN MADE logo with the “Gears for futuristic teenagers” tag line, along with the classic Levi Strauss & Co. emblem contrasting in red. Another remarkable detail in the jacket is the custom stitched HUMAN MADE duck exclusively made for the collection. A minimal red tip on the right wing of the duck gives a nod to the legendary denim brand.
As for Levi’s x HUMAN MADE 501 Jean, the quality product is crafted with 15-ounce Japanese shrink-to-fit selvedge denim along with all the classic 501 details. From the Levi’s Red Tab to the leatherback patch, we can’t help but enjoy a great pair of these staple jeans. Both the 501 jeans and 506 Trucker Jacket were developed with a Japanese artisan mill using traditional Levi’s manufacturing techniques. Both items come in a deep navy blue, pairing perfectly for an unforgettable fit. Consistent with the impeccable design, it’s no wonder these pieces are built to last.
