Bellroy has launched into leather bags with Designer Editions of its famous Laptop Brief and Melbourne Tote. The two styles are made from environmentally-friendly European leathers with suede-like lining and meticulous attention to detail featured throughout.
Bellroy designer James Jeffrey said the leather bags are distinguished by their texture and complexities. “These bags were designed to be a clean statement, to offer the right balance of simplicity and organisation, and to let leather do what it does best.”
The Laptop Brief’s luxury runs deep. The distinct shaping, subtle foiled branding, and strong, slim profile inject new energy into a classic style.
Inside, the lining enhances durability and creates a smooth hand-feel. The Brief boasts leather-accented edges throughout its interior. There are two pockets for phones and chargers, a zippered pocket for small valuables, two pen slips, a business card pocket, and a notepad sleeve. The magnetised laptop pocket protects laptops up to 13”. The shoulder strap provides comfort between meetings, and easily clips off for cool, hand-held striding.
“We struggled to find a full leather brief that had beauty and brains,” adds Jeffery. “So we set out to push our limits, and design the brief we’d want to use. We’ve worked hard to nail a clean aesthetic without compromising functionality.”
Named for the city Bellroy calls home, the Melbourne Tote features a bold form with leather that sweeps around the smooth corners. The refined exterior hides the magnetic snap closure and two unique pop pockets that sit flush against the sides of the bag popping out to reveal corner storage for small drink bottles or umbrellas.
There’s also a zippered valuables pocket and a sleeve for laptops or tablets up to 13”. The interior has leather-accented edges and possesses the same fine lining as the Laptop Brief.
