Fresh off his last-second heroics against the heavily favoured French national team, Aussie basketballer Dyson Daniels is continuing to drop dimes. In a surprise move, the 21-year-old rising NBA star has entered the world of fashion, launching a new streetwear label entitled VOUSETI. Announced just before the Paris 2024 Olympics, where Daniels will help lead arguably the strongest Boomers team ever assembled, VOUSETI sheds light on the often enigmatic sports star’s unique personality.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own label and basketball has given me access to experiencing the clothing and culture of the NBA world,” Daniels said. “Inspired by the tunnel fits, VOUSETI is an expression of myself and my personal style that I’m keen to share with the world.”

While the first VOUSETI collection drop won’t be officially announced until late August 2024, Daniels has given us a sneak peek at what we can expect. Inspired by his travels, the upcoming release focuses on premium essentials with an emphasis on hoodies and subtle graphic tees.
You’ll also find cotton tracksuits, denim pants and shorts, alongside oversized t-shirts, bucket hats, socks, beanies, and caps. The palettes are dark, bursting with bold purples and creamy neutrals, all amplified by graphics that embody the brand’s aesthetic.
The stand-out piece in the collection, however, has to be the monochrome varsity jacket, which contrasts preppy style with contemporary streetwear influences. According to Daniels, the new collection is geared towards layering, with versatility playing a major role in the range’s design philosophy.
“Each piece was designed so that they could be worn with another, whilst still holding individuality,” he explained. “I think the hoodies are going to sell out fast. They’re insane, comfy and I’m already living in mine. The material is thick and everyone who has tried them on has told me how comfortable they are.”

For Daniels, the transition into streetwear appears seamless, helped in part by a few subtle nods to his basketball background, but there are some unexpected motifs that emerge through the debut collection. Some pieces feature statements like ‘IT’S JUST YOU AND ME’, ‘US AGAINST TIME’ and ‘IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW’, which Daniels revealed was a reference to his wider vision for VOUSETI; that of community.
“VOUSETI isn’t just a name; it’s a community. It combines ‘vous’ (French for ‘you’), ‘e’ (Italian for ‘and’), and ‘I’ to symbolise the connection between you and me, bringing people together through style,” he said. “This brand is for everyone. It’s for anyone who feels inspired to wear it and anyone in my community who wants to. We want to make changes based on what people want and what the public desires.”
The inaugural VOUSETI collection will be available to purchase via the brand’s official website in the coming weeks, with prices starting from as little as AUD$20. To stay up to date on the official launch date, you can sign up for the VOUSETI mailing list now.
