Using its 70 years of outdoor expertise and brand heritage, Italian luxury brand Moncler Grenoble‘s is headed back up the mountain. The label’s latest Fall/Winter 2022 collection boasts technically innovative fabrications that push the collection’s pieces beyond both fashion and performance. The collection features menswear, womenswear, that are spread across three categories, including High Performance, Performance and Style and Après-Ski. So Let’s take a look at the new high-performance collection in full.
For men, the new Moncler High Performance category is filled with winter-tuned technical outerwear designed to endure and perform in the most extreme conditions. Including the down Cerniat ski jacket which is strategically integrated with PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active to the sleeves, sides and hood. From there, the highly breathable Hinterburg jacket features an indomitable recycled Gore-Tex laminate and rounds out the High Performance men’s offering as a versatile packable shell layer for topping soft knits and fleeces.
For women, the first offering of highly-specialised womenswear spans a range of silhouettes, lengths, and weights, to be mixed and matched with corresponding underlayers. Available in elegant ice blue, or colour-blocked pale pink, red, and white the Hainet jacket is insulated with PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active and features a pull-out adjustable hood with a rigid visor. The Chanavey jacket features PrimaLoft Bio insulation, a flexible soft shell, plus a Gore-Tex membrane with an added pocket. It comes in vibrant options of pink or green, as well as classic black, and is designed with a classic fit for long-lasting versatility.
Performance & Style
The Performance & Style category for men is equipped for both aesthetics and function. The Isorno jacket is down-filled and features a cozy, snood-like, adjustable hood. The popular Mazod jacket makes a comeback in a variety of colours and finishes, including high-visibility orange, and dynamic printed recycled nylon ripstop.
While for women, the Performance & Style category is filled with pastel metallics, graphic prints, bold silhouettes, and tactile textures. The down Theys jacket in dark red-orange tech nylon features YKK AquaGuard zippers, adjustable cuffs and a drawstring hem. The show-stopping Valsorey jacket and matching trousers are crafted from insulating metallic ripstop and available in gold or blue metallic.
The final category of the new collection is AprèsSki. The men’s offering is casual yet filled with ingenious layers like knitted jumpers, hoodies as well as cozy hats and scarves. The reversible Hostun jacket is offered in a tactile teddy fleece or ripstop nylon sides, while the hooded longline Tratten parka and Waier check overshirt both offer full-length coverage and style.
For women, transitional pieces like cozy alpine knits, thermal leggings, tonal base layers and a full range of beanies, bobble hats and accessories take centre stage. You’ll also find a long-line Arbois coat in off-white teddy fleece that features contrast nylon accents and a removable hood with a rigid visor. The plush Yvoire zip-up jacket-in creamy faux shearling and the brushed wool-blend Vanay long shirt offer versatile options.
After 70 years at the top of the outdoor fashion game, it’s safe to say Moncler has nailed functional outerwear, but the latest Grenoble collection speaks to a label that understands its purpose. More and more, luxury fans are looking to take their apparel to the extremes and while these three unique collections won’t necessarily turn heads in the same way that previous collections have, you can’t but think it’s nice to see ski-wear that doesn’t look out of place on the slopes.
