Was 2022 the year the watch industry finally started embracing collaborations? It seems so. In a year that was headlined by the OMEGA x Swatch MoonSwatch collection alongside the uber-limited and uber-expensive Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus, it’s fair to say this year has been a turning point for collaborations. Now we have the cherry on top, with a Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock DW-6900 set to release on the 25th of November, 2022. Of course, Supreme was going to have the last laugh before the year’s end.
Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock Release Information
Release date: November 25th, 2022.
Model: Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock DW-6900
Where to buy: supremenewyork.com
Price: TBA (est. $180 USD)
The G-Shock DW-6900 is a reference that’s been the crux of many collaborations this year, including a highly sought-after pairing in the G-SHOCK Ref. 6900-Pt80 By John Mayer. First launched in 1995, the watch is one of the most iconic watch references in the CASIO playbook, in fact, HODINKEE says the watch is the best-selling series in Japan and the third best-selling G-SHOCK globally.
In the case of the Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock release, three colourways will arrive including a yellow, black, and white model with matching velcro straps. Branding is prominent – in much the same way as the MoonSwatch – with ‘The North Face’ and ‘Supreme’ logos front and centre on the straps. Elsewhere, branding is kept to a minimum, with an illuminated ‘Supreme’ logo that appears on the EL backlight when activated.
The watches will drop alongside the Supreme Fall 2022 collection that includes a Taped Seam Shell Jacket (available in three colours) with transparent watch window that’s compatible with the DW-6900.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but going off the price of the John Mayer collaboration we estimate prices to be right around $180 USD. Look for the Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock DW-6900 to release on November 25th in North America.
