Another week has come and gone which means another round up of all the latest watches in our regular series, The Wind Up. In this week’s instalment we have new pieces from watchmakers like IWC, TAG Heuer, Longines and Omega, amongst others. So, as always, sit back and enjoy!

Made to commemorate Lewis Hamilton’s sixth Formula 1 World Championship win, with only Michael Schumacher now leading the Brit with seven tites, the “Lewis Hamilton” Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition is a wonderful rendition of one of IWC’s greatest ever and most iconic timepieces. Featuring a Bordeaux-red dial and a black ceramic case, the “Lewis Hamilton” Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition is a sumptuous affair of lustful colours and exceptional mechanics. Unabashedly loud, the “Lewis Hamilton” Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition perfectly personifies Lewis Hamilton’s unique charicteristics.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Opens Sydney Boutique
In exciting news, Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with Kennedy to open a new boutique right in the heart of Sydney. Located on King Street, the new boutique will enable Sydney-siders and travellers alike unprecedented access to some of the brand’s finest watches. We’ve been told it will hold the Reverso, the Master Ultra-Thin and the Polaris collections, along with a variety of high-end complicated timepieces. The officially opening of the boutique will be held on Friday the 13th of December. See you there!
TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T
In honour of the renowned Formula One champion Ayrton Senna, TAG Heuer has released two new designs commemorating the formidable racer. The first is the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T which combines a daring design along with the yellow and green accents, representing the Brazilian flag. The Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T is powered by a tourbillon located at the bottom of the dial which you can see via the dial and also through the sapphire crystal at the back of the watch which, interestingly enough, also features a stylised yellow and green image of Senna in his helmet.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Ayrton Senna Special Edition 2019
The second piece released by TAG Heuer to celebrate Ayrton Senna is the Formula 1 Calibre 16 Ayrton Senna Special Edition 2019. Featuring an engraving of Senna’s iconic helmet on the closed steel caseback, a driver’s extension to the S-shaped bracelet (which Senna himself was a fan of) and a vertically oriented dial, the Formula 1 Calibre 16 Ayrton Senna Special Edition 2019 is a sporty watch that looks as though it can be dressed up or down. I particularly like the red accents, contrasted by the differing shades of grey throughout the watch. Very cool.
Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 The Hour Glass Limited Edition
The Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 The Hour Glass Limited Edition is another celebratory piece, commemorating The Hour Glass’ 50th anniversary. Limited to only 40 pieces, the Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 The Hour Glass Limited Edition features a 41mm wide bronze case, a brown leather strap, a commemorative engraving on the titanium case back and the automatic calibre L788. The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 The Hour Glass Limited Edition is available with either a sunray champagne or blue dial.
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition
Omega has released the latest Bond watch, this it’s the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. Featuring a 42mm wide titanium case with matte black dial and luminous indexes, the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition looks to be one durable bit of kit for the famed spy. The Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition also features the Omega Calibre 8806 with a helium escape valve, an anti-magnetic rating of up to 15,000 gauss and the trademark METAS Master Chronometer certification. A watch well befitting of Daniel Craig’s presumed last outing as 007.
Stan Smith Signature Watch by Maurice de Mauriac
To round off this week’s Wind Up we’ve got something just a little bit special. It’s the Stan Smith Signature Watch by Maurice de Mauriac. The collaborative affair between the tennis star Stan Smith and watchmaker Maurice de Mauriac, the Stan Smith Signature Watch is available in three limited edition runs of only 100 pieces each in green, blue and red. The refined look and clean lines are, of course, very much reminiscent of the iconic Stan Smith Adidas shoes. You better move quick if you want one however, as pre-orders have already begun.
