Seiko’s Latest Editions

Seiko recently unveiled the limited edition Prospex along with recreations of the vintage-inspired Presage. The Prospex features a stunning array of blacks and golds encased in a package that’s dynamic and super durable. And where the Prospex can be likened to that of a brute, the Presage is a far more refined, more classical affair. Available with either a black or a white dial, and drawing on inspiration from the original 1913 designs, the Presage is quite a dressy watch, but with the innate qualities of being a decent daily wearer.

The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar features innovative dual frequency technology

Vacheron Constantin Wins the “Innovation” Prize at the GPHG 2019

Well deserved and, to be quite frank with you, not entirely surprising, Vacheron Constantin’s incredible Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar took top honour in the “Innovation” category at this year’s GPHG. The Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar is a monster of a watch. And I mean that in all realms of positivity. It has the ability to extend its power reserve up to 65 days by switching beating frequencies. The level of ingenuity and craftsmanship that would be needed to execute this kind of a watch alone is reason is give the prize to Vacheron Constantin. Hats off to one of my favourite watchmakers.

Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture watch with a grey world map dial and black leather strap
The Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture features a detailed world map dial

Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture

Featuring a dark grey dial encased in either 42mm of steel or rose gold plated steel and with a genuine in-house movement, the new Classic Worldtimer Manufacture is the latest piece to come out of the Frederique Constant atelier. The worldtimer dial looks awesome and really does the complication justice. A lot of the times, a worldtimer dial looks off, where the artistry of the map looks odd. But in the case of the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture, Frederique Constant has definitely finished the dial off exceptionally well.

The Montblanc Heritage Small Seconds features a striking salmon coloured dial

Montblanc Heritage Small Seconds

Montblanc’s Heritage Small Seconds is now available in a limited run of only 38 pieces, drawing inspiration from Minerva timepieces from the 1950s. Featuring a 39mm wide steel case and salmon-coloured lacquered dial with a grainy hour ring sunrary finish, the Heritage Small Seconds is the perfect fit for the original Minerva MB M62.00 calibers found way back in 2003. This is a very beautiful, very historic movement that Montblanc has done well to preserve and to reinvigorate.
