This week wasn’t as busy, but it was still quite an eventful one. We had new pieces from the likes of Jacob & Co., A. Lange & Söhne and Roger Dubuis all dominating the headlines. Happy reading gents.

Breitling Releases New Chronomat Models
Breitling has unveiled two new models in the Chronomat GMT 40 and the Super Chronomat 38. Both new models feature the iconic look and feel of the Chronomat lineage, including that fantastic bracelet. The GMT 40 models are distinct in their design cues, while the Super Chronomat 38, although smaller in stature, is no less impactful. I rather like the Chronomat GMT 40’s subtle design, an emphatic yet wholly low-key aesthetic. Both are incredibly cool.
Longines Welcomes Jennifer Lawrence as Ambassador of Elegance
Swiss maison Longines already lays claim to an enviable bevy of international talent, however, the watchmaker has added arguably its biggest name. Academy-Award-winning actor Jennifer Lawrence has joined Longines as the official Ambassador of Elegance, bringing a new level of prestige and empowerment to the already-established label. Since breaking into the film industry through the highly successful Hunger Games franchise, Lawrence has gone in to start her own production company, Excellent Cadaver, which helps to champion young filmmakers and industry professionals. According to Matthias Breschan, Longines’ CEO, Lawrence’s work both on and off screen made her the ideal partner to team up with, both now and into the future.
“Jennifer has the ability to imbue every character she plays with reality and authenticity, and off-screen, this translates into an elegance that is both natural and relatable,” Breschan said. “She is an inspiration to girls and women of all ages and we are proud to welcome her to the Longines family.”
