Even mentioning the word ‘ramen’ makes our taste buds pringle with excitement, and when you combine that with one of our other tantalising favourites, butter-fried chicken, we honestly have no words.
Luckily, it’s no dream – the world-famous Butter’s Fried Chicken Ramen is back! Butter’s Executive Chef Julian Cincotta’s signature Fried Chicken Ramen has now entered its seventh year, with a cult following to show for it. Arriving just in time for the Sydney winter, the tasty ramen is the perfect counterpart to a chilly Sydney day (not that you ever need an excuse for ramen, right?)
This year, there will be a new Ramen variety every six weeks which will be released with a series of drinks and a very special clothing release as Butter teams up with Hennessy, Coogi and the NBA.

If you’re all about the food, the ramen menu will be sure to impress. Julian’s delicious new creation is a tonkotsu-style ramen consisting of Fried ‘Game Farm’ Spatchcock Supreme with a Hennessy glaze, fresh thick-cut ramen noodles, ajitsuke tamago (marinated soft-boiled half egg), toasted nori, bamboo shoots, naruto maki (fish cake) and enoki mushrooms in a chicken and dashi based broth.
In terms of drinks, Hennessy has you sorted. A long-time partner with the NBA, you can expect three delicious cocktails including the Blueberry Baller with Hennessy V.S, blueberry, elderflower, lemon, the Paloma Playmaker with Hennessy V.S, grapefruit soda, grapefruit juice, agave, lime, and the Mango Mamba with Hennessy V.S, mango, Prosecco, lime.
To commemorate this unforgettable moment, there’s a special clothing range – Butter Ramen Club apparel. There will be jackets and puffer vests up for grabs that have been created using material from the hip-hop brand Coogi. Each item has a “B” patch, created using stock provided by Coogi to Butter and lovingly hand cut and backed then embroidered. The selection is (very) limited, with only 25 of each style made, so our advice is to get in quick.

The Butter’s Fried Chicken Ramen ($22) will be available in limited numbers each day from Thursday 11 May at Butter Surry Hills all day, every day. A new ramen will be available from Thursday 22 June 2023. The World Famous Fried Chicken Ramen will only be available in-store, not on delivery platforms. The Butter Ramen Club apparel will be on sale online and in-store at Butter Surry Hills.
